🖥️ Computing in 2024 alone has caused so much waste (bloat) and suffering (energy/planet).

👬 Maybe it's about time we look at working on people together at the same time a lot more and going for happiness in that way with the least basic but existing working tech. ✊

Since people are ultimately needing to be perfected (improved) and are faulty / not there yet now, then using the most basic structure and real human transmission per byte (Fediverse / Jitsi) I think is better to solve and organise ourselves.

A lot more deliberate human interaction than jumping into bigger things (which some will exist anyway and ok) which people totally don't understand.

Computing in 2024 alone has caused so much waste and suffering. Maybe it's about time we look at people at lot more.

I'm not against everything else but ask yourself a question:

❓ Does whatever I'm looking at now tick the human 'box' for caring ? ☑️ ?

Or improve real communication between humans? 🤔

I think most of this kind of problem is really the delay, silence, ignoring while obviously you get it and have been on a lot here. It ends up getting piled up much more than the initial especially with fast people (like me, my bad) so saying "no I'm not into thinking to change this or really standing" means people can be rest assured more of your choices... so it doesn't become anything more.

I appreciate you felt something (more than I was actually sending though I'll have another look for myself to asses) other than perhaps testing you politics to say basically what you said which I will state and was not what you said exactly maybe but will help you in writing in future, so in my mind you're practically doing now and saying:

█ "I'm ok with using Google"
█ "I don't necessarily announce right now it's bad or a difference to that in the near future needs to be made by a responsible person and person of position as I am with many others I am recommending things to"
█ "I'm ok with sharing Data with 3rd parties / from my viewers / project etc..."
█ "It's not my priority to look at best practices to overall freedoms / what is more Win:Win"
█ and maybe more I said but don't want to seem like I'm harassing - I'm just good at listing and not forgetting.

I'm a bit surprised it hasn't come up earlier in your long years of teaching. Maybe it's been Google all the way and nobody in the FOSS has sad much. But anyway good for others to know better which even this can show without hate. Plenty of paradoxes I expose naturally from exploring... and that's part of solving I hope.

To finish, I also consider I know only the half or quarter of anything so by asking I learn... and yes I think that is below par but you have at least got back to me. As usual fast comebacks about projects or things people want from others but when it's critique, ah well it's something to evolve I think as it's all healthy and even needs to be conquered to become best pals than distancing.

I don't plan on making it longer though naturally paths cross perhaps and yes when you do make a FAQ or decide to make your long-term next-generation-politics clearer then just drop a post on that (and it will helps other read meanwhile when choosing which projects to contribute to) and preferably native text and pics here on the Fediverse rather than elsewhere. To keep the going more than other things...

At the end it is them and us in many ways, choosing this or that is very important in the chain, as it's so well designed now over years and years... so I'm glad you've chosen and happy to hear work on it in the future,

Finally. Just to say I was also thinking good things while waiting and was appreciating, for example, the diversity of things (cooking, bible study etc) so that's worth saying too even if underneath the hood isn't quite right and even measurably with crooked folks.
