@niclas
I read about something about this when reviewing browsers but I don't think it was Brave (maybe it was)

And just by chance related to browsers (but not about rewards) is this video if you're interested

Firefox DYING is TERRIBLE for the Web

invidious.snopyta.org/watch?v=

And there are probably videos about rewards though it's always nice if someone knows here too... Have to admit I like the 2 videos from The Linux Experiment I've seen so far but also trying not to watch heavily- but for knowledge was 100% helpful and concise.

Agree - and here's a list of "Things to try avoid doing with your followers..."

@jwildeboer @aral
Agree - and not hating here but these are all the things if you want to become obscure / unclear to people:

For a while mentioned politely how things seem self-serving emotionally and circular (self-feeding)

Posts were very unclear / misleading and NEVER GOT RESPONSE ABOUT IT.

So while which we allow each other a lot of emotional output just looking at his posts it seems he went off on one whole series and then not responding to a wide range of things or saying why also is also not healthy

But anyway without hating the above way is FOR SURE NOT THE WAY.

Summary:
1- Emotional self-feeding + Y/N questions to obvious big feelings about events to get obvious answers back (some is ok, some anger building)
2- Unclear asking questions or what actual the discussion is (it's not obvious if it's throw-away comment or rhetorical or deep or asking for help or not or sarcasm or anger or 100 things)
3- Answering someone like this and can get that person saying "NO! I didn't mean that you dummy" and feeding more of whatever is bugging them.... (not saying it's 100% Aral here but it's a bit like "walking on egg-shells" with the mis-direction / lack of clarity)

- SO YES CLICKBAITING and without much use in terms of knowledge or even honing precisely on the point
- JUST UNCLEAR AND UNRESPONSIVE

Ultimatums - Freedom or Slavery... (the same game as before)...

My edited picture reads:

I don't like ultimatums. But it's seems it's not our choice:

dangerous freedom
or
peaceful slavery (which means the list below)

passive aggressive control
commercial monopoly
manipulation and misrepresentation
being warlords elsewhere
sociopathic decisions

This seems appropriate to consider. We've been on this road for a while. Our government just feels it can be more open now.

a frustration with myself and my education is that I spent years trying to answer the question of why software systems struggle with basic shit like this. now I think the answer, more than anything else, is capitalism. there is not really any incentive to build systems that interoperate with your competitor, so very little resources are dedicated to that. but interoperation is crucial to building robust usable systems, so you end up building deficient stuff because the market demands it.

Which is very good.
And at the same time maybe the internet and TV kinda merged which it makes it a lot easier to go without, though now I'm doing the same limits now with internet OoO and trying to work with my own stuff only... which is a challenge!

TV says no?.... [whistles for help...]

@stux

"ok peeps I need this TV which needs updating.
Got to get it ReFlashed by tomorrow. Just don't brick it or have a fail-safe ROM ready oki !

Put your paws in the circle...

[one cat hesitantly says]

"Why not replace the TV with a dedicated computer and big monitor and add long mouse cable or remote!"

"Shhhh!" say the other cats.

Video about popular YouTube channel losing to YouTube itself - their politics and algorithm (people behind it)...

The Hated One- YouTube Has Blacklisted My Channel

invidious.snopyta.org/watch?v=

FOR THOSE HONESTLY ABLE / FEELING OK TO READ:

Here's a video touching on the subject about not being supported even from a youtube channel which is incentivised.
Even YouTube people, quite popular are also finding it also political and increasingly their channels are going down / pushed out... with new video profiles looking like they are just about half showing more sponsors more than anything!
So like TV again (or even more).

There is an passive-aggressive (and actually just outright agressive removal too) that forces people towards the commercial template or starve / die if they rely on YouTube (Google).
So reduced views are another tactic even if you good, and the algorithm does that well to de-promote people... which is of course them as a person/group doing it.

We have to get around this faceless corporate thing.

Video has some well scripted points showing politics (morals, principles, good ways) means people losing by these bad 'standards'... Video is <10mins

EXTRA READING BELOW IF WANTED:

Many sectors / tactics are trying to serve themselves more than anything... and that's why I say unite and even internally fight to get battle-tested. These guys don't fuck about.

From 9.26 onwards shows the paradox we're in asking for people to support what we know is a bad as money itself, American servers, pandering to other people's politics etc.

invidious.snopyta.org/watch?v=

--------------------------------
THE REST IS EXTRA - ONLY FOR THOSE INTERESTED / SEEING CONSTANTS

+ ' MAYBE ' TOWARDS A SOLUTION...
--------------------------------

I think it can be possible to get money and be accepted it from those who have it but not from the typical way of asking those who know already know about money and puke thinking about it (for example his audience is probably fighting these things and you also)
It's hard for the same audience to support it (I offer my time for example to crack this paradox via social leverage). BUT finding those that are happy to give or care but don't want to know details is possible. Creating money circles for happy giving is perhaps something underrated when done right because there are people that want to give and have NO idea what to do... and also don't get why money is circular in the downward spirals
So we need the looong way around this social construct while educating some as in general nobody wants to give by default what is scarce and devaluing. But seeing why it's also good to give or worthless in the end can happen much like people at end of their life who realise what am going to do with this $ now I'm old.

Such a hard life and bad trap we're in where we want to support but money is often not it. At the end of this video, softly we can see and hear as observer that 'making more videos' is not really going to be the solution. I did like his idea of field work and real change but that's also very dangerous and big time - but still maybe just similar to 'making videos'. Already lots out there.
So documentaries perhaps from money up front and lovingly given which could be good. I know you might be doing this in some way... but the spirit of people dare I say somehow is the main thing both in giving and supporting themselves to wake up / learn. I might be talking to myself here - but the learning from limits or coming out from same-same I think for all of us needs to be moved on (including me) and often it needs others to help see / calculate the overview which we can't and see dynamics happening not to stay stuck or in repetition and cracking nuts that are forever there too along the way.

Do mention if you like why you're not sure..,. or any comment.... how it's not a clear yes or no (which of course it never is but even 80% could be a yes more than unsure...)

So if really unsure like 50% what the other 50% for you?

Appeal = Apparel?
Though it's appealing I think you meant Apparel (as in general clothing)

3 replies to double-check government habits and daily life - 1... Grow our own things, less exotics and more DIY gardening... 2 - LESS Oils / LESS Fuels = LE$$ WARS... 3- we were ALREADY WERE POOR, Just needed to see it more clearly as they cheated us even more out of habitat, habits, planet and our children's future!...

@rysiek@mastodon.technology Some great replies - life here is wise at least-

.1 So sentiments I like
yes @ottona
for all of use to be more realistic within our own grounds, growing and eating more potatoes or TOWARDS that kinds of thing I say!

2. Because like Charlag @charlag said
"NO OIL NO WAR" amd so *LESS DEMAND FOR PETROL etc, LESS REASONS TO GO TO AFGHANISTAN ETC" and starting from exotic things even... making it more special like before rather than bananas every day.

3. But the initial comment by @rysiek@mastodon.technology "Now we all pay for these." seems right,.. BUT also applies that we 'anyway' were already paying pr going to be because of the way people do things (think of it like another onion skin)... (VERY unsustainably trying to cheat nature, it's local people and remote people for resources) and basically cut short something to make their own thing long (storage of money/energy conversion method / wealth)

Basically we're making lots of these 'cheats' like in a game, but taking from all sides and the future having the corners cut from it far from socio-ecologic-economical-etc ways and more just about everyone getting the problems / shooting themselves in the foot for others... and then some more more...

Overall we were all poor and it was all hype and displaced...
which is why I prefer people to grow their own and stick to that Greek kind of economics (as in "taking care of our house, as in the planet / nature as out home / habitat!") because at least it's honest and involves people AND planet.

There has not been one revolution in the world's history which was carried out by the working people in their own interests -- by urban workers and poor peasants who do not exploit the work of others.

@freeschool bricks are older than the pyramids, and there's a bunch of still-standing brick buildings older than the US in Europe, especially in the west, since the more eastern parts really like their wood.

And of course pretty much all noteworthy castles and palaces are super old too, but that really stretches the definition of a "house". The Malbork castle in northern Poland is from the 13th century, for example:

@norg
Saw a dandelion around the house where these is not much else, like a bit of decoration or something someone dropped.

I came back around to it again and swear there was more in the same place than than I saw before. I was always smiling at them like they were playing games with me every time I walked past!
Ah I think that's love for / I'm in love with nature..

No photo for a while...but here's one from a few days ago, a beautiful little grape #hyacinth.

Like most people in our area we have quite a lot of those in our #garden. Their wonderful blossoms area such a great sign of early spring.

This specific one grew tall enough for me to get my camera below it and use the leaves in the foreground as bokeh, while a setting evening sun painted everything in a beautiful, warm light.
