Technology is not ours unless we make it ourself...

Technology is not ours unless we make it ourself...

Not saying all technology must be what you make but to realise that you are just a user of most things... and that as a long curve comes back to the same point of dependency even if the tech lasts years... if we don't consider coming out of that or making it ourself then we it a bad cycle...

and Technology is also changing like planned obsolescence is for parts and non-interchangeable components (like all cars should be since many are exactly the same in many ways but the oil filter screw is ' it's own type " or printers that can't scan without ink in it (yes they are amazingly creative and one day you are going to be locked out)

So after a while all these mini-games really add up where eventually the long string from the source means you see all of the devices (kinda moving into surveillance) comes from America and pumped from false monopoly money / bad investment - controlled by leaders that are simply idiots (as most are paid to be or step up to take the hit)... so without changing this ALL about politics (not to hijack my own post lol) BUT.... IT IS MOSTLY POLITICAL WHEN YOU LOOK AT WHO AND WHERE AND WHAT AND THE MATERIALS ETC.
If you can't MAKE IT or REPLACE IT then you need to rely on a million people in a chain all following a few leaders.
And then you NEED MONEY ETC <--- the most political material in the world MONEY deveoped for fuelling wars since 'back in the day' and we even in our own lifetime's (so yes it ties in a whole supply chain and government allowing and disallowing things... and somehow this tech is allowed full of cameras etc... which you could use *but not all in*...
Just consider the metals, factories, trucks, companies running the shit-show at all quite bad (and then what people could be doing is more-human improvement rather than almost machine-only and giving it to uneducated users taking videos of everyone).

All these simple things 'just' to get you a monitor is something we are now learning about after we get it and standardise it... It's also installed in other people's countries at the same time so this is a consideration we don't even see perhaps... 1st world countries using a weaker currency that then depends on American tech... and actually keeps them poor... a bad game eventually not making people happy even with 20 iphones)

I say America or The States here as that kind of Hollywood core of everything and industry... more than it's people (even though it is that kind of mentality of 'kill everything' or 'my land and territory' wars that is part of this when it comes down to it...
Mixed feelings are probably here about me saying America but The States probably is better. there's not much doubt it's mostly from that kind of producer and well American politics and people aren't rated too highly I guess and in my life isn't for it's antics all over the world including installing companies and big air bases in the craziest of places they can't even speak the language of.

Aaanyway consider that the tech isn't yourself much like cloud computing is just remote storage which is made available to you or brought to you... but the human politics still stays the same (people can't talk to each other or build something else more than 'more tech' sometimes.

My aim is to get us all to make friends so we're not divided by others u$ing their way$.

I reserve right to edit this and redraft.... thoughts are welcome.

The initial thought was " Technology is not ours unless we make it ourself... " and then expanded behind a CW so there is some respect given there it's not easy and we do have to consider dependency and politics... which seems since day 1 is what this is all about to help 'them' make whatever they want while allowing us to use what uses us or helps them if we have it...

@danso
Agree - you need that specifically not some work around. Until I find that specifically then I'll calm the suggestion down :)

@danso
will put on short-rang list of things :)

also consider meanwhile these:

- If Middle-click on mouse to close Tab would work sometimes (again not perfect but sometimes a mouse click could work as well as keyboard shortcut)

- CTRL+BCKSPC for word delete
:)

It's about growing the right culture... similar to growing bacteria we are literally the culture. us, the organisms doing our thing together more friendly and germinating interoperable stems of growth... something much less than being lead on a leash anyway or feeling like we can't do things because of rules.
So direct connection and indirect pressure that but leads to eventual change rather than sudden. Doing things in the right way more often (or just less in the wrong ways to our intended culture) leads to success or eventual snowball.
The overwhelming mass (whenever that happens) is more of a sure thing that multiplies with time. Eventually it will happen if people stick to it and keep adding / finding ways that match principles (not sacrifice it or sell it).

@danso Fair play for trying...
-How about a external keyboard shortcut key using an app?

For example CTRL+2 / CTRL+SHIFT+W instead of CTRL+W (just something similar)

How to deal with people you know are problematic and far away?...

If you know you can't trust people in charge then we definitely have to sort that out somehow... maybe the long way around by how they got their in the first place... money I guess.

If their not going away and have control of the money then really.... I don't know... withhold your taxes (by yeah it's not an end move and just waits for them to come down even heavier on people...)

It's like talking to Putin or any other oligarch, they're not going to listen until it hits them in the wallet or you show them some strong-arm muscle. That's why it does feel like 'no money' (less toys for war machine) and then that = more chance of caring / need to care by people rather than transfer trust into useless money backed by structured abusers, gangs / legal games.

It's just not anything near winning if they can continue to do things constantly un-leashed, un-moderated, un-punished etc.

We've got to be more clever to see at every step they are going to want 1000% / zillion back so why they go for things is less important - just the fact they go for things and pay money for it is in itself self-evident -
Governments don't give up their games often (if ever) so we know everything is trojan horsed and don't even need to know how sometimes, you just can't trust it or taking any money... because it all falls into their rows and column, names and numbers.

We are what we repeatedly do. #Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit

Can you say more about the
"Virtue signaling is dangerous. " like what it means here or in general what you meant, thanks

The culture of individualism in America is why Xcel Energy sends you a mailer suggesting if you don't do your laundry or run your dishwasher between 1 and 7 pm the energy you use is from renewables rather than coal, instead of them closing their coal plants.

Individualism...

...of individualism in America is why you pay a fee for recycling as part of your rent, but all the recyclables end up in a landfill anyway, instead of manufacturers using recycled materials for their products and packaging.

such fickle relationships :)
but what I means is that small things can make people forever jump from one thing to another... and while I think there were big gaps before a key config you could hold out for or even re-map yourself :)

@owncast
Hi some feedback about stream -
was good overall
happy to test it these points with you later - 2 main points for fiddling with / testing on both our ends

1- Bandwidth / Quality Output
Making the low settings the absolute lowest possible (like an audio only level) so even if it's bad pixelated it will allow those not able to sustain mass UP and DOWN speeds to at least hear you... and since there are other quality settings it's not a problem.
CD quality is 128kbp/s so that's some idea you don't need much.

Overall helps keep those with shared net or doing other stuff happier and listening to you at same time.

Also saves the planet a heap since it's momentary / disposable data...

2- Oover-amped output (from application channel I think, voice didn't seem effected - again we can test it)

Ok bye for now!

Not many people want close contact and well while I understand that - there isn't much choice,

The other choices are mostly the business matrix which only compounds pressure and closes in on people in the uncaring iron-fist game while distance and invisible people are arguably doing worse every second than (us 1:1 or small group) trying to make best of it ourselves...

I think I make my offer of Stranger vs $hit / oppre$$ion...
sound ok!
