This includes many types of people which actually you naturally want to filter out by letting people come to you if they are really that desperate for freedom. (example: if their not on Mastodon for their own strogn political reasons then they are not your level yet and though you want to save people, getting more baggage doesn't work).

Don't you're going to covert them on this level of stuff (small tools etc maybe but focus on what anyway would happen if they get to same stage as you as you're probably stuck also and needs time to figure out),
Let friends / the right strong types come when ready.

none are great exists but everything else prolongs it with dubious cure...

I apologise. The summary is mostly everything works as bloat to give us what we think is doable but is basically to copy YouTube etc which is not doable and not sustainable.

Repos and silos I feel are more honest and straight-forward almost without the computational excess and energy, multiple copies and what I listed before.

Mastodon also incorporates everything PeerTube does so I see no need for PeerTube in that social sense either as it's the same or even superior in that it's a bit more embedded (even though compatibility is there).

So I don't see PeerTube's usage other than for massive files for which either I'd restrict myself or I'd use a silo or directory for people to browse.

FTP can also include sample videos like torrents still have and even pictures / screenshots / text files I already have as additional description and material (multi-format which PeerTube can't do) which I can rewrite / change by overwriting any of the files instantly.

I use all video platforms even less now.. for a few reason I detail here:

Maybe a few further refinements and the way we set things up and the software it's possible but seem too many things pull in wrong directions making it unfeasible for me.

- reduce the number of copies of each video resolution on the internet...

- never 1080p basically (=1GB+ files unless you get some qualifications or approval for it!)
- use 360p as default or saving preferences of resolution in each browser (A LOT of bandwidth is just loading the default 720p and then users reducing it (if they notice or flatmate / family complain the internet is slow) or not even noticing it in small window and just death of energy that way... so even if people do catch it in the beginning it's unneeded packets for many users and many video HORRIBLE)

FTP even still makes sense of this
- loads as HTML pages without any front end
- updates instantly (like instantly)
- manages directories
- allows clients to access like your own system (try clicking other software and see visibly load delay, I can fly through ftp silos...no could page theme, remote software
- HTML basic / non-bloat interface
- Any browser from beginning of time can load FTP pages... as example OwnCloud/NextCloud no longer loads in my 'old' browser (10/5years) and my fear is that as time goes on tech just adds more hoops (again HTML version elminates that and actually Ownload could maybe make that a feature 'HTML mode' lol)
- many I respect still use FTP or similar including those techies at Debian! (can send you links if you like)

UNLESS Peertube / OwnCloud can do / address. remedy these things then FTP client seems still more honest / superior / fast for small setups... everyone has it (all Linux setups use 'FTP' or similar SSH connections as it's inbuilt to all servers)

I use FTP loosely here as there are version that are near enough or not layers of cake on top so take FTP as anything similar....
Variations are many and not just this section of Wikipedia:

I hope all my considerations are considered because naming and renaming files (and folders) is HORRIBLE or slow / unwanted added layers (for some users at least...

There are FTP considerations like passwording directories to avoid spam... but anyway that's what I use still and work instantly...
.. too few downsites not to use FTP or SSH to stuff... AND
- no multiple copies
- no need manually enter each title of video LOL (FTP filename is the filename!)
- No transcoding lol (people download the file which for small thing is better than remote CPU load + Amazon / American backends needed)

For now I would put a few videos as front streams on Peertube (like 10 maximum to avoid typeing too much) and add series of similar videos on FTP or similar (maybe IPS or silo variation whatever)

I had peertube - deleted it
I had peertube - remote host couldn't pay for seemingly "it's ok for unlimited all-you-can-eat burning of internet energy" and in the end discontinued (you can see thing going down and although American space is CHEAP it's not right or sustainable or even moral from those that are not on anyone's side!)

This means with PeerTube you lose all your stuff in the end online as it spirals our of control (FTP makes you manage a lot better / can copy hole server in 1 drag and drop for backup)

so those people meticulously naming/renaming the front end = a timehole or one that the filename could / should do it...

I wrote this fast but for now, PeerTube only for a samples not en masse, This also crosses with saving energy / not using bad/unmutual server space (Amazon S3 etc)

Everything has to align and that = less. All-you-can-eat is a fake and those used to it better fix up their filesystem and who they are paying (even if it's cheap to shut those remote connections down that can also be monitored / shutdown by them at any time).

Again fast writing.. happy to edit but for now too many thing aren't great to think it's ok to use them.

A rant...

TL;DR is just a reflection of people in real life - anything that is much to do with another person is probably heavier,,, more than 1000 lines of code, staying all night to wok on stuff... working on a motorbike forever or constantly 'optimising' something... all while humans fail.

I think it's this personalisation that makes people tilt earlier or be repulsed and numbers and text are simply 'less hassle'.

Non-human beings and less-human objects to interact with and 'keep focus' and not deal with the rest that comes with being human...

Some might say it's 'for humanity' to do technology which is also indicating what it really isn't when it comes down to it...

I consider TL;DR often about avoiding humans.. and that is the crux of problems all the way back again in projects or just project Life.

Anything that is much to do with another person is probably much heavier than 1000 lines of code or working on a motorbike forever... 'optimising',,, it's ok because it's technology... but the human work is still not being done (I know there are even less no jobs or funding there!).

You can try for other ways but you have to accept they have the boards covered well and simply play less / make a stand at some point.

Can't avoid energy prices going up

Can't avoid messing with money supply

Can't avoid people / authority trying to control you

Still I might not get it so it will be definitely be me here who is wrong... but I'll answer and this will show more clearly how I'm wrong instead of asking again...

So my answer is: As long as they have control why should they learn or even worry that it's clear to people?

The iron tight / water tight control is MUCH more the priority than showing of hand and those people don't have shame like we do, they just bulldozer it.

So a few things seem to touch the difference in logic or generally caring (hard as it maybe be but also imagine they just delegate it so not even them doing the dirty work) AND it can be better when we know as we move away from the hand that's about to strike (this is also evident in a game I saw where you can fire rockets in front of you and some people with low health will run away without even engaging in a fight, only for that playing either to hunt you after getting that powerup or just collecting more resources and eventually stacking up and killing worse/quicker than accepting repeated death and wearing down earlier their stack)

The only thing we can do is cut from ourselves since it's from us they get their power (by siphoning all energy > money > control and back down that chain)

Does that answer it well enough?

(Again possibly wrong but you can see what I don't get here or even help with points

Also I'd like to add and even hit home:
'Good people' often think:
- it's shameful / pity
- should 'at least not be so obvious
- could be done better if they are really clever
- they oppressors are going to lose face when / if everyone is going to know and unravel / uo-turn there plans... NO

(the answer NO mostly just more of the same as again using us means whatever we do cuts us)

So it's either people sorting out their life from top to bottom and accept losses (which they also don't have much time for in working all the time and being exhausted but could increment their % of input / output in other areas of life) or they just more of the same in light of oppressors who just stack up inside this game)...

you can tell all this after watching many games of high level players with a good level of commentary explaining things on-the-fly...

because I wrote something more (which could be wrong but will leave it here as it's good stuff for something else I was going to write)

The answer is: People are too scared and so they let things happen also or slide that way.

So as well as counting on 'nice' people and abusing it to increment environment into worse things people almost feed it by ignoring or not catching things earlier (with risk involved but they far from realise it will catch up with them or make bad things in some other way)

When being too scared people don't even stand up for themselves or others, for their own job, other people's, their own university changes, teachers, everything... so then what do you get?

All this helps in bullying and continuing things without the right swords of justice or organisation / speaking / leaking it.

Wondering if you wanted a mini-interview and see how it goes (basically to advertise what you do a bit, say what you do, what you're interested in) basically gives a better version that just text...

For impossible things I suggest you give it more chance more often, as usually it's your perception that underestimates things and not the reality because you assume it isn't achievable or don't stick with it...

even in the extreme things which I would normally exclude it would still make sense to contact more people or leave a note on your profile is much better than 0 signal to people...

...then it just might happen or it might come to you (a person or opportunity) and at the least increments closer to it happening! Like putting more signs in more places or putting a sticker on your bag or badge on your clothing!

In other words:
- Giving 0 chance doesn't increase chances

- Casually you can increase chances (not over trying either)

- <0 chance is saying "no it can't happen" to yourself, and that "no point" even in the preparing of the thought you cut it off (making sure it won't happen)

Give it a bit more chance and a bit more often like 1% more! Then finally do it once you see how a domino or cascading waterfall effect works!

Most people's perception is wrong and underestimating the effects of trying inside a colony of ants which has unknown domino chain effects multiple reaction person to person long-way short-way logic illogical - ways - around stuff!
