Not virtue signalling here only, but practise of EVERYTHING as we go. Judged by getting in contact (many have) and having courage to communicate (or seeking it from others is ok, EVERYONE needs a bit of courage or hand-holding to make big personal changes). Who else is there for example if family doesn't understand?
Learning and watching can be good and staying out of people's way, BUT better is doing something every day and helping each other with some tough decisions / lessons... and then being bold enough to do them. 1... 2... 3 that is all that's needed.

STANDARDISING RESPECT?

CAN IT BE TOTALLY STANDARDISED?
YES AND NO....
Some in some ways the yes is some base foundations but the no is to the individualist nature of people of which there as many combinations as there are people... and then they might mind in some specific formats, channels, situations but totality don't mind in some other ways (principle may get wavered or even opposite for example for wavered for family etc or temporarily put in learning mode rather than strict rule)
So many types of people = many types of respect.
Imagine individualism is detailed and so this posts concern is that YOU CAN'T STANDARDISE PEOPLE WITHOUT DISRESPECTING THEM! LOL

POWER AND CONTROL
I believe most of us already know and see the dangers of others 'upholding' the law or judging it for profit-via-punishment.
Actually more than this I wanted to say
it would be really good to have a way to allow people too see what we prefer and hold that highest in any way of life or system... while people could learn what else to try... not to assume this for people or box them in either... if they are genuine let them try, even to make mistakes, instead of blocking them... I guess most are honest and even others can watch them (as we do now) but in a healthier kind of stewardship / taking care of people/
kind of like a long yes / no list or example from past - this would be great to read!
And assuming it's not going to be all stored for the intention of bad (which of course people would use it for so I don't know what to do about this) then it would be useful for us to match our traits and usages...
NOT WAITING TO MAKE MISTAKES, BEING MORE PROACTIVE ABOUT RESPECT
But instead of waiting for people to take a photo and someone waiving their hand like "no I don't want" it would be better to see people and accept when they do or don't like photos.... in an ideal world...
this needs re-writing but this 'seeing transparently' or loading of preferences I think allows respect and privacy which I think all interconnected here...

(before events happens and before we have to explain why we don't want to do something against our will or other people's who might get offended even if we tell them it's not personal and they still tell us "oh you're just making a big deal out of it" and they carry on anyway without us individual in mind). I think a photo is a good example but politically asking everything I think is eventually a better order of doing things without manipulating them and serving them and the serving the idea that happy people do well in life and do better...
@gemlog lol, abort, eject. run away ! (yes it's good to have and do but another branch of doing things, but if it's important enough of other people appreciate your work etc then fair enough)... I almost avoid this as it's like more and more but also back then it was harder so now it's a lot more drag and drop and it's done... before many hurdles and marathon nights maybe...

This is why I tried a flat dir so I can simply search (and name things well while processing them now or knowing I'll forget)... So for reference and speed 1 dir might work also and even avoid manual work (unless you would want to copy it to someone who cares or some other use... otherwise it's like I'm in EVERYTHING, hence the everything flat directory! I know it's counter intuitive but now super fast for me.)

Though games I dumped a lot of (I knew they would be around forever AND had to get out of seeing them / having access)... but yeah enjoy talking about it nowadays as my focuses are more human linked rather than 1player mode :)
OK this has got me thinking I should do likewise...
I have 'backups' of backups and old FTP dir... but thankfully all within one or two disks (deliberately limited myself) that might have to bite the bullet and regularly do when I need space...
@gemlog Sometime sI deliberately keep stuff and organise it in one folder to then enjoy it and then delete it all together.... lol it's psychological I'm sure with branches of other reasons... but yeah a lot of unneeded stuff too and hoarding!

@gemlog No that's ok... that was good enough to see random stuff as a just a sample list- it's almost like seeing someone else's stuff folder - especially the old stuff and the old music mp3s we used to download one by one mixed with all the filenames... lol 'retro' era and phases of our life / computing... :) nostalgia eyes

It's common by me but to cover it I go to the direct messages regularly from hamburger menu and check regularly what has a blue dot showing (as unread / unreplied)
It's definitely something to good to check every now and again like email...

SIDE TOPIC BUT HAVE A LOOK
Replacing gmail with something else.
To get rid of the google email root evil (the base evil for of all our lives) I though using 'mastodon mail' or self-hosting email would work clean us from base surveillances...
So mostly people are worried about spam when self-hosting but spam seems mitigated via purely white-listing (therefore 0 spam on email to block people we don't have add one by one in our mail as a permitted white-list!)

I notice a test would be best, since you're guessing on my behalf and ultimately I see 0 of it now - so I think it's a low bar if that's something you're worried about - I personally prefer anything that pings my notification here on this space and reminds me that way (without expecting the world at my feet either) but more than any other space this works (probably it's alignment to my/our politics as a 'safest' space or decent people here).
But if no test, not even a copy and paste here, nothing, then ok!

It's also a compliment on someone who can really catch good things or take best they can.
It takes two to tango and a random lovely person gives me ample audio feedback suddenly which was unexpected and what I wish for in everyone... as we are all pretty good in many ways but sometimes let websites or technological representation get in the way... there is enough on my website for people to take the best from and better not to try and understand it all in under 5sec!

- I think it helps to know what you like personally so even if the website is a mess just enter in the search box and make your life easier! (it's on the middle-right side, type some key topics if you know what you are into!)

To be a good listener towards realising solutions, especially those presented by others, you have to be able to assume that person is right or has something in what they are saying and go along with it for a while.
If you cannot imagine or have a big block from keywords etc, then you're already at a bad start.

I guess we all have that kind of folder creation where we put things in for later sorting, accumulate, and then forget!
And then we make a new folder sometime after and forget the old!

ANSWER 1 - Do it now even as incomplete work
put files to work right away and then it's done as a thing... somewhat even as token shell of what you want it to be, just as soon as possible as step 1 make it something visible or in practice... it's not a bad idea because even a bad attempt will then bug you to do it better / remind you to tie those other things / or someone else might even help do it with you :)
ANSWER 2 - TRY FLAT DIRECTORY + LIFO METHOD
Oh yeah this year I practise flat-directories - almost only no directories just all in 1 folder... makes it so easy to search AND to avoid it going too far down the page it acts like a chronological list according to when I save so it's a kind of human FIFO/LIFO method depending on how you see it but let's say LSFP "Last Saved, First to Process"

It's actually the responsibility of both user and host I believe to choose what links they give and take. What people push or what people accept are two different happenings.
List of reasons to support title of post.

2. Users are also responsible, but usually lazy or yes has automatic plugin or un-aware or etc so depending on how serious you are this makes 100% sure and for many users
