Small is more careful vs. Small is beautiful - E.F. Schumacher

Small is more careful

So 'Small is beautiful' yes but with more of a precise word like 'careful' it's a bit a bit more measurable.

So careful could be be better imagined as:

● portable / transportable
● scaled down
● practical
● individually manageable
● low consumption low hoarding
● hand assisted almost only

Overall need
Less ● people,
Less ● tools,
Less ● wrong can happen / more adjust-as-you go or "on-the-fly"
● Smaller mistakes
Less ●waste and ●risks a lot less.

Video is just a side note to the above perhaps:

Greed Trumps Need - Palmer Report

Their biggest mistake was choosing United Healthcare. They routinely deny coverage. That's how their CEO is able to receive a 65 million dollar salary. When I was insured by UHC I was forced to appeal 2-3 times per year. No other insurance company has caused me to appeal even once.

Truth is a process, not a property:

“The truth of an idea is not a stagnant property inherent in it. Truth *happens* to an idea. It *becomes* true, is *made* true by events. Its verity *is* in fact an event, a process, the process, namely, of its verifying itself, its veri-*fication*.”

In the early 20th century, while studying world mythology, Joseph Campbell discovered a pattern hidden in every story ever told and he called it The Hero's Journey. A truly inspirational film, FINDING JOE takes us on the ultimate hero's journey: the journey of self discovery. As you slay dragons and uncover treasures, you just may find that the holy grail you seek is closer than you think.

If you've seen this film then you know how much of an impact it could make in the world!

Please share this with as many people as you can... the world needs this message now! With Maximum Love ~ Patrick Takaya Solomon"

Justice is Local & Remote Justice...

Justice is Local & Remote...
●Local Action
●Remote Considerations/Actions...

- Always a mix.

- We are responsible locally and remotely
(to all others)

- What you don't do locally or work towards for others far away, is being less responsible or completely 'irresponsible' in an overall human sense (to the whole species).
It's never been just about only yourself and always been mixed of [you]+[I]+[planet]

●you and I

BUT also now more than ever we are connected and there is a Domino Effect even by using computers and less using what people think... less upgrading the older miindsets in people and more just 'users'.

Still the 'people work' and 'evolution in mind' is what needs rewarding / increment more often no matter which tech or way we use.

Talking about this constantly as part of every day and week helps upgrade *people*. All the games have changed or expanded (especially from what parents knew or taught us as 'correct' or 'concrete' on some quite sketchy grounds now.

So now is the time to learn..
(ask me anything). And just make best we can with what game-makers/authority have decided more and more to trap us in.. and not love / care our way out of..

EVERYONE IS TO BLAME (EVERYONE HAS RESPONSIBILITY)...

It's everyone who doesn't know what they are doing...

(for example buying coffee by the ton and thinking it's / can come ethically because they said so or now they put on a tree or frog logo suddenly)

Responsibility is increased by others who leverage the masses BUT ANYWAY TO START WITH You AND Everyone HAD TO KNOW:

IT COULDN'T EVER BE THIS EASY WITHOUT FALLOUT / REDUCING OTHERS.

Finding peace and humanity only through war is worrying...

Finding peace and humanity only through war is worrying, AND bad practise when countries stress each other other to contribute more stress/escalate/hide intentions of furthing war... which I think ALL are doing through cheating people using money/debt based economy.

So just the 'head' of snakes and war 'heads' are not the only contributing factor... it's everyone who doesn't know what they are doing (for example buying coffee by the ton and thinking it's / can come ethically because they said so or put a tree or frog logo suddenly).

Published in 2016, this brilliant comic by artist Joe Dater somehow feels even more timely in 2023. #art

The DoS attack against mastodon.online and mastodon.social is not very sophisticated. The attacker is using Digital Ocean to send various HTTP requests from multiple IP addresses at the same time. It's enough to exhaust Nginx worker connections. The useragents are spoofed. That's basically it. It will be mitigated, and this will make the network stronger. #ActivityPub #DDoS #InfoSec

"Adding highway lanes to deal with traffic congestion is like loosening your belt to cure obesity." - Lewis Mumford in 1955.

We’ve known this for a long time, but we’ve put a massive amount of money, space, time & energy into pretending we don’t know it.

This resulted in suggestions that were well received by workshop chairs and quoted in the follow-up sessions:

10% yearly decrease of energy & materials consumption for ICT;
Focus on actions - not on measurements;
Support for adding "Sustainability Considerations" section to each RFC!

what should be considered "the Internet": core? edge? whole ICT?

I also disagree with a focus of this paper* on "increasing energy efficiency" , because I believe that the focus should be on decreasing the consumption.

While I do find encouraging the existence of a group of technology vendors, service and content providers would be interested in "Greening of Streaming", I find their focus on increasing energy efficiency is misguided, because of "efficacy myth"♢ and Jevons paradox☆.

● Question: What to do with old 48x CD-ROM or a DVD-ROM drive at end of life?

Imagine it's dead (which it isn't just keep making slipped disc noises)

It's quite heavy like literally A BRICK to use the mobile phrase but this has the dimension of real ■brick■ too !

Not sure if I'd even want to attempt fix
...could be belt drive and anyway sometimes newer is best for these things right? (Not to end with scratched discs? laser gives after a while? )
