A good movement is a responsive movement...

Twitter has algorithms to get you more engaged / clicking.
Mastodon does not. So in order to enjoy Mastodon more you have to take some time to reach out and find people...
Means not just a liking things (called 'favourite' here) or subscribing ('follow') but trying to message the person and talk to folks that you enjoy in order to get best from life! Even do something with them...

Sounds asking for much or very impersonal, but I think that is what it's going to take to heal the world more attempts using safer things like Mastodon!!

(Without the algorithms for now but who knows that might get implemented in the future!)

So no random popular posts / very little 'trending' stuff to keep you clicking and engaged but you can click 'Federated' at the top to see all messages or add lists !!

Home is where your followed people show up. Pick some people every now and again from your follow list so you're not just following 100's of people because that also loses focus and actually you get to understand reality (not what you think from seeing text on screen but interacting with someone and even audio chatting with them).
Just following is not the way.
Taking interest in them as your to-do list for those who you follow means they re not just entertainment or a soulless medium, and less loses sight of the actual person! Co-create!

- you might think people might notice these things, ok me yes... but people easily don't notice also or just stick it on without verification of 'what the fuck is it doing to my bandwidth' and it's default to play at max res!
or even medium I don't use... 360p is for the way (if not audio as 1st gear!)
So it's fault of you and youtube perhaps... (haven't see where you can set global quality to lowest on YouTube, Invidious, PeerTube, Odysee etc!
Max 1080p in peertube for example is terrible even for normal videos, even for those that catch it still the processing of computer is stopping things being smooth or unbloated... unneeded watching for a few seconds or minutes and then "why is it so slow" and then "oh it's trying to download movie size DVD's for 1 youtube video" hmm good business that - WE NEED MORE DATA CENTRES !!

So if you watching inside small box or switching tabs while working - use audio or lower res - FANKS

Either way a big drain is happening and well we could help that.

both could be permanent / global / cookie / low first etc

- Multiple versions always end up bad
1080p + 720p + 360p + video only copies (MP4 + WEBM) + audio versions ... just crazy

How do people get my messages so quick?!

I would actually like to follow a few people instantly / directly in the same way like a 2nd list or 'high priority' notification for each post...

Could it be I have missed something!! ?

TEXT is not the greatest filter for human communication so I suggest occasionally back to audio chat (not even video) with someone you like the profile of
(or just me in this case!)

Now you may not always want human voice or video but contact mainly via text is almost a modern killer if you were to keep all those misunderstood emails and how often people didn't respond / ignored you because they 'felt' awkward or were not sure about you behind text.
If fact you might not even remember those emails unresponded and the time you put in to send it but sometimes it's like 20emails (reading/writing/askign again) for something 10mins would have sorted...

So it's the same for Mastodon perhaps but at least we know it was delivered here hoorah and see the profiles / interesting things to talk about!)

For most humans that can't do text or have done too much text-based filters (like in their job) they want to talk so this is a instant way I recommend and open source / safest way I know while being accessible by only browser (no reg / no signup or Big company)

The live talk is what we prefer even if we lost practise and direct adjustments are better instead of SMS to girlfriend type of signals which are interpreted based on mood perhaps and not being personal or polite as in person is more in person.

TL;DR: Reasons for money NOT the solving of things is because you need more money and so problems are perpetuated if you agree what is tied to money.

(what is tied to money is perhaps the mentality of those above us which you could agree with Y/M/Maybe or look at any of the legal rules in their favour, tax, what they don't care about or pay for in society, debt system run by banks, scandals, leader hoarding, company's not paying tax / cheating etc etc)

If money is the priority then it's somewhat doing things the wrong way around.

And then pretending to solve things (prolonging things to get more money or devalue people) is also not good.

This all is a backwards way of achieving what loses it's meaning and if I make a device that solves lots of problems and KNOCKS OUT others in the market... be ready for a fight!

Solving overall is a partial virtual signal type things as whatever you do * it must make much more money * to pay for bank, the loans, the greedy cats pocket and stuff shareholder cake-holes....

Yes perpetuate bad things in order for people to pay and 'feed' them (and then pay you if there is any small change they allow and then tax heavily for it in income tax, fuel tax, alcohol and other taxes list goes on like you are actually paying for everything 5 times)

So it isn't possible without fuckery, Sorry seem more than reasonable to say :) That's why cutting out money from this equation *maybe* will work if we can find bubble to get along with less money and more converting people's mind that money is good and not just a siphon / extraction for our energy to them.

Jobs are mainly / only to make money out of people and the rest is a parasitical / side thing... so why would you or government want to solve that? Why let people to do it themself and not need your 'services' as gov / boss? lol who will feed you poor boss who becomes like normal beggar again!

If you solve something you have less to do - it's almost a physics or process thing.

Imagine, people doing it mostly for themself and not needing others. Or just working based off happiness... lol a joke right?
DIY do it yourself isn't a problem UNLESS LIFE IS HINGED on Money THEN you *need* to do something in order to get money first (even stupid work included for most of your life or competing and preventing others from sharing the experience).

The reasons of getting money are backwards because money the first main thing NOT the solving of things. All meaning is lost after rapidly unless you were just born and have hopes without looking / understanding reality.

Money eventually or profits will be temporary... but also it's hard to let go of in the now.

It's not that easy finding and being allowed to solve something even for each other (talking from my own experience)!
The fact that you are human entities you to a lot as a skill set, but as a 'job' (the best sniper) you're valued as very low or just average, maybe good as a label for 2/3 things if you don't get beat by the other Olympic people in your field. Hardly fair or looking to give everyone a job towards happiness (free or paid it's hard man!)

We have mostly solved all life's big problems but still looking to fuck something up for money is the old style of command and conquer.

Arguably government's 'job' itself is to conquer it's people and then cause troubles to then get their vote in some way... because that also gets money, [face slaps emoji]

This is the misery of life without claiming the whole list (but all supports money mostly so you know why)

Summary:
Solving things / making free time for people will not keep your population busy and they would start wondering about solving or enjoy other things (like arts and improving culture more than 8-8 working)
Fixing things eventually would go back up to fixing government and rending it a small admin team- maybe just to fix the computer once in a while.

Any system will find a big problem after time when it comes to humans and valuing things by 1 standard if it misses out many of the other attributes or values held but those people.

Maybe there is a cut off point but if a system fails to value those attributes which in the end are not measured, and then human-attributed values and preferences are not counted for, then you could say the game of measuring everything is more often not measured than is (we could make a list of all attributes and subtract what is measured).
This probably ties in with life too as 1 continue thing and not just work (which largely doesn't care and we'd hesitate and question why they did care also).

How people feel, where they are going, their hopes, what happened, who is the biggest arsehole of the bosses to manage or move on somehow because they force down everyone else to do the bad work for them etc.

If it consistently fails to value or measure attributes important for humans or humans-attributed value from a persons perspective and preferences then discontent and other problems definitely occur (in that measurement or displaced in everything else as social problems etc).

Not paid to care, that's the shortest way perhaps to write it.

What this means is instead of being easy going, we force things into being measured only in certain ways and numbers and don't care if people are happy about it or not or it wouldn't be a numerical thing.
Being happy it's not a supported measurement more than kicking people out or marking their card if they complain the business barely keeping them alive is not fair.

Happiness opens a big topic but it can be seen as simply 'are you happy about x or not?' and honestly taking answers and making life around that someone... (bending the tree of life back this way)

Happiness is also about things related to things like physically being able or not, or motivated or not (everybody has a different body type or thought-process and seems un-fair to assume standards are ok more than expect everyone to be different and not considering it one big learning adventure instead).

Apart from some basic *loose measurements* I think asking people constantly about happiness also gets use to similar places we try to feed people with instead of demanding or using financial system to force people to work.. only to eat, drop into a coma tired and wake up again.

So people work for places they *far* from like and don't agree with so maybe this could be a project.

MY NOTE: COMPLAINTS PROJECT

But that's the game of force even though my ideal comes from more the individual side.

It is possible to ask people to try things and even filling in the slots themselves... but the anyway the expectation for perfect constant motivation like a machine to do things and work for someone else or non-nature based work (travelling to the concert plastered city).... is far-fetched and also too much in itself to expect and the wrong way to do things.

We could find better things to pay ourselves for in better areas of city or places in the countryside. But I guess people won't let us... This post maybe tried to say what is quite obvious but I'm not too sure if people see it (I'm sure they feel it but not see it written much or others looking to do something about it like make a complaints system about everything!).

STEM gets blocked consistently (regulated) and while that can have a few good reason, most of it is for bad / controlling / monopolistic aspects..., else hijacked, patented out of reach from people, whatever... oh yeah monetised etc...
Even if there is 1 or 2 good reasons the other 10 reasons and way it's used is bad / self-serving to those above (do you trust the I don't !).

Perhaps like everything it's main gate to why STEM even exists.
My condolences if you just realise you're up again everyone else (Lord Voldermort type people / Big Bad Bosses, Legal Gangster etc)

Newbies often have their hopes and dreams in all sectors, doing things even for free, then when they get there they realise, "oh it's not just about effort, dreams, fairness" it's about raw extraction / devaluation of people.

Do we want more people here on Mastodon all together cluttering things when there is no progression path or training for them?

Possibly no from me (but the question is more detailed then that so read on before anything)

So while I don't mind new users at all, the dynamic game is also about existing people; the already wise and clever but still perhaps not quite there themselves... and if they just treat this as a clever side things using less-corporate mediums then it's still not really enough of a change in my mind for ant movements to keep ticking over. (moving profile to better space is good but also waiting for it to go down from mass or one reason or another is always also on the horizon). So it's really limited having more people here and not being able to do much any better and that's what I personally want . developing now we have the tech side and need the people believing in themselves and others a lot more.

I rate the overrun factor of commercial interest more stronger than us doing what we have free right now so if we are not to play better games every day here and even step things up now we also might not have safer space or people that can re-create this again).

I would say we might find ourselves *wanting* for an ideal as a larger number but really what we want is quality avenues and movement paths.
With more numbers we might realise "what to do with them now they are here but acting like they are over there still?"...
which naturally is like "well, let them do whatever" but as the shit-shows go on, no not really over here please (sometimes it takes for shit-shows to come here for people to realise what we should be have doing all along, so I'm saying why wait for that?!).

As I see it it's also like this culture pool of people now, small / medium, 1000's of manageable responsive, clever, articulate people (of just a % from those that are responsive and want to entertain testing more things) but if you can't get those existing clever people to practice themselves and changing their mind using regular pub-style meetings then that's the acid test answer (i.e. we're not good enough right now to scale anything, the stock culture bacteria isn't strong enough to go seed / spawn anything).
Some might settle for something slightly better twitter, fb, insta and leave it there but I think you really have to entertain letting people work on finishing these quests to reduce their power while it's still small compared to where they will be in 1 year and the next.

The main point (if you are looking for freedom or not) is not just to have numbers but quality and methodology moving forward.

Give me the people and I'll show you these tests which are also about asking them... if people want to see change.

Many is seems have regular positions, enough wealth, regular comfort, good ethics ... and so see if people can do something for them / with them without too much mess... else more of the average stock person which doesn't have something setup for them isn't going to get much further and might quit Mastodon (yeah I believe we could pave the roads and help grow better people and not just accept twitter refugees as stock which is just going to grow more average people or need lots of time before they really get whats happening and being done about it).

Really out of 1000's then I think we better attempt more things before we really do get what we wish for and crumble under the weight!

If people are conscious or not... at some point that is the point I mean with the question. Sure let people hop on but also make paths and avenues for people to get together and facilitate that as branches.

While a little more conscious moving / talking I think the main game after moving here can be better... and the headz here can help make a better game from these shoulders we're on (thanks for sure to those before us).
But we gotta cut our snakes off a bit more. Really allow each other to do more in many more ways.

Can sounds ungrateful but it's natural to finish or unite the chain of things. I do check myself regularly so holding back can be good yes! But no activity / only experts busy = bad.

Basically if we can't do it with this small group of pool as a sample then the probability is just going to be fairly not much more even with more people.

The aim is not only to get people on Mastodon (I hope) but to let our own things fly.... even with clever / nice people bashing is nicely (at least it's not the mob) I think that works still.

Whatever you believe in at the end anyway it ties down to similar centralised/decentralised stuff and I think games / activity can be at various levels (from vocabb sessions to more in-depth stuff for example). That's the basic steps I see with Mastodon as platform right now with all respects due to existing effort perhaps more isolated.

Identifiers all track you and can triangulate position (google knows where each one of it's phones are) by these methods and cross-referencing them:

APPS with privileges (big pain) + IMEI of phone + IP address + MAC address of WIFI / Network adapter + Location (EXIF in pics, GPS data etc) + Browser fingerprints + profile cookies (1 login in for all?) + nearby WIFI + Google ID / AppleID / CAPTCHAS to check you...

A lot of stuff a Linux OS will solve AND some habits it might train you out of.

So for example VPN is good but being logged into accounts or sharing just pings your location, or while watching videos might reveal things or just many things together reveal you
including Cross device tracking (not just 1 device - things connect and pair together things)

MAINLY or good start is de-googling you existing phone because Google Login or Apples AppleID or whatever are the head of snake for identifying you and making things provable (the rest, even if you click is less provable 100% but they are slowly getting here to be able to do things later using 100% evidence).

2FA needs a google app <--- hence even de-googled phone means you need to install app even if you have a Linux phone.
That is why they push for 2FA so badly.

[edited: I got a comment that 2FA does NOT need a google app but it's becoming pushed more which means they will get their way if they want it. There are allegedly plenty of self-hosted options or are included with password managers... so I don't know maybe it's not a matter of time and can be a minor point.

'FREE' people and inventions also have a responsibility to see who is abusing it and basically make provisions / conditions / choose more carefully. Block them from weaponizing

Weaponizing* everything is very real today.

* Weaponizing = the putting of parts / components / code together (much like mechanical parts) and making a gun at the end from those innocent components - the end result of the chain is bad.

So what to do about it?

To start
- Don't under-estimate how well chains are put together or swap things in and out
- Imaging more 'efficient' can mean more destructive / faster at doing the bad / inhuman things. If it exist and work, no need x10 speed every year.

Even with 'Free' stuff / software / service / etc consider them as Free weapons and tools for people to plugin into their own mentality - so it's worth checking even if if you think something new is just great because it's 'new'... Keep a lid on it if really it has 10% good use and x10 bad.

Ask: IS IT WORTH GIVING TO IDIOTS?

A simple tutorial...

If the website is giving too much data, lots of choice, etc ---> then it is for YOU also to think:
----> "Right too much info but what is it I want
-----> What do I like and can pick and choose
----> what are my own current projects and goals - can I match anything?
----> Can I do some tests / samples? Can I search keywords?

Find a way. It's in your power also.

If you're not serious then you won't really get a serious answer.
Give it some time, keep the open a bit long and think about it.

I admit websites and interfaces vary and can be like being forced in something different but it can be like a personality (not the persons always as it's just technology) but with basic text and pictures words there you caan 'crack the code!' and they don't change that much considering most are similar just with different front end or colour scheme...

Overall I guess it's better to think why am I here, can I try a bit and then also contact them?
Also let someone guide you through their own 'house' or see it as history and even a bit of a relic to adventure

We can't assume standard lives or technology always! But the basic text and pictures are reassuringly there.

I write this because people seem to give up INSTANTLY on seeing lots of information (like what a website should do but too much... as well as summaries and super-short feel-good stuff)

If you met Einstein like I did (in my dreams) then you might see a messy desk as something actually positive and refreshing so you can expect smoething more interesting or even fireworks for thoughts instead of 'sterile mainstream' commercial version lacking any personality and playing it too safe.

Eintsein even used to keep a messy desk! (and not saying you can't change things once in a while).
