@themarkup @STAT In your reporting, have you come across telehealth companies, small or large, who are taking metadata security/privacy seriously? Metadata security/privacy in this context would be everything other than the most basic encryption of the raw content of communications -- it's who's talking with whom, when, where, how, etc. -- all of which is revealed in most tools/platforms today and also typically sitting around waiting for a data breach.

(This is a self serving question in that that's what we spend our time thinking and working on, but also, we hope, an important one that not enough companies and providers are grappling with.)

It is definintely NOT a coinceidence.

Bolsonaro has been following the same script as Trump to the letter since day one. Even to the point of pampering bikers. It has now turned out that, on Jan/6/2020, while the Capitol was under atack by the Trump mob, Bolsonaro relatives were in the White House by invitation of Ivanka Trump.

Bolsonaro and Trump are just two manifestations of the same plan.

I’ve seen some concern over whether moving from Twitter to Mastodon would make it harder to track breaking news.

Since joining, I’ve learned about a Brazilian coup, followed journalists live posting the mess of a Speaker of the House vote, and tracked multiple AI and Apple centric tech stories.

I think it’s going to be alright.
