I’m new to Mastadon - another bird app refugee. I study #wetlands #invertebrates #birds #plants, especially how to manage #invasivespecies and to conserve #speciesAtRisk. I run the #WaterlooWetlandLab at the #University of #Waterloo. I’m getting pretty agitated by #Ontario ‘s Ford #government who are passing #Bill23 that will destroy many wetlands to profit developers. Lately, I’m working hard to #SaveOntarioWetlands.
@girls_can Welcome! I’m a birder too. Located in the interlake in Manitoba, it’s a migratory path for so many birds. Great viewing opportunities. I share your concerns about wetlands. My daughter is an environmental scientist who works directly in this field with the East Interlake Watershed District.

I did my MSc at #University of #Manitoba in their Dept of #entomology! A paradise of #wetlands and #waterfowl. #DeltaMarsh is also the site of really groundbreaking research on wetlands and water levels!
@girls_can I used to work for Ducks Unlimited Canada :) And am now a Horticulturalist! I got my BA at U of MB a long long time ago. Was epic, but short.
