@BethO even as a person who likes pickups and finds them super practical I must agree that full-size pickups have gotten HUGE! Their noses are insanely high.

My solution (as a European who finds that trucks are long but their beds are often too short) is to go back to flat-nose/forward-control setups. This will do a number of things:

* Make the overall truck shorter.
* Make the bed longer for the same length truck.
* Greatly increase forward visibility.

There are passenger safety challenges with these designs but nothing that cannot be surmounted with current technology.

Also, we need to factor in that trucks no longer need a long nose to fit an engine, with everything going EV that's simply not needed.

PS: Also the problem is mostly the latest trucks from the big America 3: Silverado, F Series, RAM. The noses are just huge vertical slabs!

I have a Japanese mid-size pickup (an Isuzu D-Max) and the nose is much less aggressive and sloped like a car. This gives you better visibility than when driving a full size truck.
