Annual Reminder!
If your younglings are getting new video #games consoles remember to carefully open them & switch them on to do any software updates before #Christmas Day!
Updates take a while and take longer on Christmas Day as everyone else is trying to do the same.
Buying them a new game? Christmas Eve after they’ve gone to bed pop it in the console for any updates - don’t do it before otherwise they’ll see traces of the game on the console 😉

@wiredfire hehe. Good tip, but sometimes I really don't like modern gaming.
@wiredfire cloud gaming can be a happy medium too, but that has its challenges too of course.
@gpowerf the concept is fantastic, but the implementation is too dependent on the end user having a *really* good ping & impeccable stability. I'm sure that will become much more commonplace in time, but we're not there yet.
@gpowerf for real. Too often I fire up the PlayStation or the Oculus Quest and the like to find myself treated to 30-60 minutes of updates before I can play the game I put in 😅
There's definitely a joy in popping a cart / disc in something, turning it on, and just playing.
