@darth @Retrosponge I'm slowly coming to the realisation that #HaloInfinite is for old-fashioned gamers, that's to say for old people like me.
That's fine, it's good to know that Microsoft and 343 cater to our tastes.
If what the masses crave are novelty skins and visual addons I don't think I'd be against that. Would I mind playing as Chun-Li or some other gimmicks? Nah...
This is 100% how I feel.
I don't want Halo chasing trends. I want Halo to feel like it did while I was growing up, just modernized a bit. But still Halo at its core.
That likely means it will have a smaller player base, but that's fine.
I will never understand the need for a "purpose" or a "reason" to play something other than just having fun. Didn't need any of that when I was obsessively playing Halo 1-3
@averagehalogamer @gpowerf @darth It has the vibe of Quake which I played to death back in the day. Shooting people in the face for the simple joy of shooting people in the face.
@gpowerf @darth I play Fortnite a lot now after a couple of years away, and IMO the addition of anime characters etc... Has been a dreadful idea as the art styles clash with the game.
I'm glad Halo doesn't do that.
