@256 this gen was very exciting. The flip from 2D to 3D was a huge change to what gaming felt like and the sort of things we could experience. This gen was so significant I ended up buying the three consoles in the pic.

@gpowerf @256 weirdly this Gen happened at a time in my life where I temporarily wasn’t into gaming. That may or may not have had something to do with discovering beer, rave music, and clubbing 😅

But looking objectively it was absolutely a paradigm shift in gaming. Though what 5th gen started 6th gen really brought home and gave us what is essentially the gaming experiences we still mostly see today.

Everything since 5th & 6th gen has felt, & largely been, iterative

@wiredfire @256 I totally agree. For several gens now gaming has essentially been the same. VR with omnidirectional treadmills is the next big step for me. I’m looking forward to your own fitness level being important when gaming too.

@gpowerf @256 my Quest 2 set is pretty fantastic. I lament lacking the space to actually play VR properly regularly. Walkabout Golf is, incidentally, a pure delight.

@wiredfire @256 having relatively affordable omnidireccional treadmills will be a game changer!

@gpowerf @256 I would play Superhot all over again anew with one of these suckers!
