Sometimes the Steam Deck can just be randomly super-Beta for no reason, and it's quite annoying.

Unplugged from dock: deck rebooted

Loaded game again: steam input broken

Attempt #3...told it to reboot, now staring at a slightly lit black screen.

@gamingonlinux it is annoying! Then again other consoles do have their problems, my Xbox Series S isn’t hiccup free either.

@gpowerf @gamingonlinux I just got a used PS4 to play Forbidden West on. Not... a particularly great experience. Took an hour and a half to install from disc at a speed slower than my internet connection to start. The game does not run great on PS4 either. Lots of audio crackling/buffering issues, and a *lot* streaming/loading problems. To be fair it's a next gen game on last gen hardware... I haven't done the "console experience" for a few years and am underwhelmed.

@slembcke @gamingonlinux the most headache free gaming experience I’ve had in recent years was Stadia. Sure, all the caveats about your particular network…but if that was fine Stadia was silky smooth and near paper cut free.
