@godlessmom some of it is absolutely hilarious! Musk was right, comedy came back to Twitter but he shut it all down after 48 hours.

It does differ per instance. We have our house rules over at our About page at https://qoto.org/about/more so everybody should know what to expect on here.
The Federated timeline falls outside of our domain, and you might see some stuff you'd rather like to block (and I encourage you to do so if it upsets you).
Thankfully the users have good tools at their disposal and you can even block whole domains if that's full of not-so-nice peeps.
Hope your experience will continue to be pleasant here. 🙂
@skanman I fully intend to skate into my retirement. Ice or roller, I don’t mind as long as I’m skating.

Article addressing Twitter + data preservation issues
@HauntedOwlbear @stokel @AbandonedAmerica very interesting article. I mostly think of digital preservation from video gaming angle, but the historical data stored in social media isn’t something I’ve thought about before.
The main worry with Twitter right now is that it is hanging from a thread. If it were implode there will be very few people left in it to cooperate with any preservation effort.
@furgar I’m over a decade older than any of those. Fan of our original Halo and Halo Infinite.
@topvint UK here and mine arrived online with peeps in the US. Although… my Stadia account started as a US account before I migrated it to a UK account.
@Krassenstein I keen on the following:
* A crowd that’s more willing to have meaningful conversations.
* The larger character limit that enables these more in-depth conversations.
* The lack of quote tweet which minimises conflict.
* The fact that it is an open source project and that it cannot be bought by anyone.
I’m still playing #Persona5Royal and #HaloInfinite with #Bayonetta and #SonicFrontiers on the side. Kind of lost most of the will to play #APlagueTaleRequiem. Loving using the little Series S with keyboard and mouse. #xp
The lesson to take from the big layoffs at Twitter and Facebook is this: "The job will never love you back." No matter how much effort you put in, no matter how clever you are, no matter how long you've committed yourself to $COMPANY, when push comes to shove, you're just a replaceable part in the machine.
Keep your weekends and your evenings. Leave your bugs at work. Your time is for you, and your boss won't send you flowers.
This is my fun social media account, I will post a lot of video game stuff (mostly old or cloud gaming) and some work stuff.
If I post an image with no Alt text it is because the image is just there for decoration and doesn't provide any extra meaning to the toot.
