@breadbin you might find this thread helpful. Essentially the keyboard is USB.
@breadbin you can pick it up for £120. Which in my opinion isn't a bad price for a brand-new case and keyboard for a project like that.
That’s one big arcade cabinet! #gaming https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2023/04/strong-museum-making-the-worlds-largest-playable-donkey-kong-cabinet

Five years ago I built a portable Raspberry Pi. Until last weekend I ran Retropie on it. It was not great. The issue was having to install the drivers provided by the kit manufacturer, and all it did was map certain keys on a keyboard to the various controls. This was problematic in some emulators like Amiberry who didn't see it as a proper controller. The entire thing felt like a massive hack and it was very unsatisfying to use.
I largely stopped tinkering. And then recently for some reason a bunch of stuff stopped working in my install. So I decided to try something else.
Enter Recalbox. To set up the controls all you have to do is change one line in a configuration file and it reads the GPIO inputs from the controls as a proper controller.
It's glorious! Out of the box it's absolutely awesome. You just add ROMs. There's also a little bit of configuration to make it work with the screen but that's just copy and paste stuff.
I cannot emphasize enough how amazing #BingChat is. I've just navigated through huge amounts of documentation in conversational style and it helped me solve all the issues I had and I saving me HOURS!
I wonder if Stack Overflow will survive AI.

@thelinuxEXP I agree with the main point of this article. The FSF is an outdated organization that has failed to keep up with the times and the needs of the free software community. Even though I think RMS is kind of a living legend, I also think Richard Stallman’s rhetoric has been repetitive and divisive for decades, and he has done more harm than good to the cause of free software.
I think it’s time for a new and more inclusive leadership that is willing to discuss relevant and current issues eg: the future of AI in society, vs leaders who fret about saying Linux vs GNU/Linux and who don't know that using wget to read the f-ing Web is moronic.
@Gosunkugi I understand your concern about the incident, but I prefer to look at the bigger picture. This is a small company with dedicated employees who have put a lot of effort into making this product. I don’t think it’s fair to judge the whole team based on the actions of one individual. That would diminish the value of their hard work and achievements.
@youronlyone well you could stick to one island at a time. There's so much to see in Luzon alone!
I don't know about van life, but people in the Philippines do build overland rigs and I've seen pages discussing various overland adventures there :)
As for van life, a simply HiAce build would be very anonymous and relatively affordable. Here in the UK we mostly explore the country with a pickup (Isuzu D-Max) and a tent... so no winter exploring.
@youronlyone basically I should have all the provinces between Manila and Sorsogon covered soon :D
@youronlyone I think this is mine... But I will do much more driving this year so the map will expand quite a bit :D
This is my fun social media account, I will post a lot of video game stuff (mostly old or cloud gaming) and some work stuff.
If I post an image with no Alt text it is because the image is just there for decoration and doesn't provide any extra meaning to the toot.
