Here's Spook, a retrocomputing tinkerer in my late twenties. I collect and fix all sorts of old things - computers, consoles, PDAs, audio equipment... but as my instance's name suggests, my main focus is on m68000-based machines, mainly #Amiga and #X68000.
I have a trusty assistant and sidekick, Laser the rabbit, you'll see him a lot on my profile.

I'm also an Amiga demoscene coder at the Ghostown group

Norway wants Facebook behavioural advertising banned across Europe.

Norway has told the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) it believes a countrywide ban on Meta harvesting user data to serve up advertising on Facebook and Instagram should be made permanent and extended across Europe.

I understand and sympathize with the Manhattan Borough president trying to get public agencies to invest in building a following in places other than X, but advocating for it to happen on Threads without even acknowledging that this just puts them at the whims of a *different* private company seems shortsighted at best.

Does he simply not know the fediverse exists, I wonder?

I wanted to see if ChatGPT could put me out of the job, so I asked it to write a funny fake fact. To my surprise, it literally just plagiarized one of my own facts. Nearly word for word. I'd say my position remains safe for now.

So I am starting a #FLOSS HAM community.. Think apache for Ham radio. The idea is to address the state of open source software and standards in HAM radio.
