This is my fun social media account, I will post a lot of video game stuff (mostly old or cloud gaming) and some work stuff.
If I post an image with no Alt text it is because the image is just there for decoration and doesn't provide any extra meaning to the toot.

@obi yes. As a community, I think we will have to contribute back to our local servers somehow.
@petetaylor keeping me warm ;)
Now there are more than 7 million Mastodon accounts. With huge numbers signing up every hour. #mastodon #TwitterMigration #xp

People grumbling that #Mastodon is slow at the moment... You just turned up with 1 million people in a tiny, rural village and you're complaining there's a queue to get into the only tearoom, which is run by gay pensioners Babs & Maureen as a retirement hobby on Mons-Weds. Relax!
#TwitterMigration
I have a thing for tiny games consoles, or even tiny game capable PCs. Sure the huge original XBox or current PS5 are powerhouses, but there is something kind of elegant about a smaller device. #xp
@gsibergerin he’s joking. But it is funny 😄

How does verification work here? In a fairly neat way. You use web sites that you have control of to verify your account, for instance here's my profile page - you do this by adding a rel tag to your account, see your profile configuration for more information #HintsAndTips

@lunarloony I felt like this about Discord. I jumped in and jumped out thinking I didn't need to learn how to use something else. It is like playing any fighting game that isn't a Capcom game... too complicated to learn. :)
@lunarloony I've never used Tumblr. In fact, I don't know much about it other than people post photos there. I'll give it a go sometime.

Holy crap, there are still people over on the birdsite that think this is part of some master plan and not absolute proof that Musk couldn't manage his way out of a wet paper bag.

@jonn_blanchard there are a lot of 5D chess comments. Or the "extreme left" being to blame.
There's only one person to blame, Space Karen. Nobody else is responsible for the chaos at Twitter.
And don't forget this impacts people outside Twitter too. Some people's jobs are social media jobs which are entirely Twitter-based.
I was never an Elon Musk detractor, I did admire how Tesla pushed technology forward, I love a lot of what OpenAI has done, and SpaceX is incredible. However, anyone who has seen what's going on at Twitter and still thinks it is all some sort of masterful move is quite frankly not all there.

Honestly, it would be pretty tragic if Ye Birdsite were to implode. I feel like all my "big" connections have migrated over here anyway, but there are a few people I'm gonna miss seeing.
Quite a few of them have newsletters. Which I actually don't mind - data ownership and all that. Web 1.0's coming back!

Friends who are coming over to #Fediverse this evening as part of the latest surge of #TwitterMigration - #welcome.
One thing that you may consider doing - an #Introduction post.
Also, let's all please be patient with each other and give each other #grace. 🙏🏼
Remember this community runs without ads. It's a coop and runs on tips. It can be clunky but I really believe everyone here is kind and generous.
Here is a helpful piece https://www.wired.com/story/how-to-get-started-use-mastodon/ and check out @feditips @mastodonmigration
