This is not good. gamesindustry.biz/microsofts-p

And before anyone mentions it to be speculation, the fact of the matter is that these industries are built to consume one another. I'm glad the #SteamDeck is more open that most handheld gaming systems which guarantees a long lifespan but fucking hell. #Nintendo potentially getting acquired was not on my bingo card.

I know the switch gworls on twitch might be talking about this lol

@jalcine geez! That would be HORRIBLE! Nintendo is not the nicest to their consumers but they innovate and push home gaming forward creatively more than anyone else right now. Microsoft is the exact opposite, they are stuffy, slow, and generally lack creativity.

Nintendo would slowly but surely be transformed into a meaningless name that's cranking out derivative crud.

@M0KHR at home the first IBM clone my parents bought (8086 with an 8086 math coprocessor) had a green on black screen :)

Incredibly happy with today's #RetroGame haul from Ipswich.

Every game here is a true classic.

@M0KHR I just tagged Hercules because it's the only mono graphics controller I remembered :) In fact, I also used an XT clone with an amber screen and a Hercules card.

@kellyn hehehe :) I tried hard to stay away from saying batshit when I wrote the toot 😆 lol

I AGREE!

@meredithw typical engagement fishing technique. Lots of people do it, even YouTubers make mistakes simply to fish for comments.

I believe in , we need free software and the recent case shows this. However, I also think that the is suboptimal and is not the best body to represent users’ needs, for various reasons. Some of these reasons are:

* The FSF is too radical or dogmatic in its views and actions.

* The FSF is too outdated or irrelevant in the modern software landscape, it lives in the long-forgotten past.

* The FSF is too ineffective or inefficient in its operations and campaigns, they preach to the same choir over and over again and never seem to reach new ears.

@darth there's also The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. But I don't know, it's less impactful than Breath of the Wild and more predictable than Hugwarts winning.

has stated that the and refresh will be all digital and will not have an optical drive. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I fully understand this. Using optical media feels like something we used to do a couple of decades ago. At some point, it has to stop, and I fully recognize that this creates some challenges with video game preservation. But does it really? nowadays are so dependent on servers, patches, etc… that I suspect physical media or not the game preservation efforts cannot rely on discs alone.

@darth it has a good chance to be game of the year, it is a game that really makes you feel like you entered the Harry Potter universe.

I asked a software engineer once what it would cost to build this today. I will never forget his answer:

“We can’t, we don’t know how to do it.”

@whatatoots health is another one, working from home gives you much more time to work out before or after work and you aren't exposed to office foods and snacks that can derail your healthy diet.
