So I took a gamble on buying a shortboard NTSC VIC-II from a Chinese seller, as they are known to be hit and miss. But good news is that the one I bought works

🎮 Atari game "Galaga." 1. Screenshot, 2. Sketch in markers, 3. Finish in oil.
🎮 When I was starting out as a freelance illustrator, I designed a few video game covers for Atari.
🎮 The screen graphics were pretty basic. Orderly lines of bug-like monsters swarm overhead and drop bombs on you.
🎮 The idea with the package art was to develop the 3D fantasy in the player's imagination.
🎮 Although there were home versions of the game, you had to play the arcade version to see the ultimate levels.

Regardless it looks like I’m reluctantly going back to Gmail as the primary mail service. Which is a shame as I was looking forward to using Outlook’s email group feature.

@benjedwards yeah, I hope so. I really do enjoy mastodon much more than Twitter but I think that initial setup hurdle is a big one for most people

People on here are celebrating the lack of an “algorithmic” approach to content suggestion on Mastodon. This is also true of other Fediverse software. @pixelfed avoids all of Instagram’s annoying behaviours by working chronologically and with hashtag search, and @funkwhale encourages you to set up your own filters to find new content you might like. This is a much more organic and less anxiety-inducing way to do things online.

Just read an article suggesting #PlayStation Plus as a suitable replacement for #Stadia. In the article, the core issue of Sony's streaming requiring a PC or PS4/5 is brushed off as no big deal.

My friend, that's not just a big deal, that's the entire benefit of cloud gaming. 🤦

Put PlayStation Plus Premium streaming on Android and iOS, and then we'll talk.

Until then, it's better suited as a backwards compatibility layer for #PS5 owners than as a meaningful #CloudGaming competitor.

I've made a deliberate choice against a quoting feature because it inevitably adds toxicity to people's behaviours. You are tempted to quote when you should be replying, and so you speak at your audience instead of with the person you are talking to. It becomes performative.
