The reason I prefer Mastodon to Twitter is that in this platform, there are less attractive information shown in the home page.
@lucifargundam as for twitter and instagram, there are more and more ads or other contents recommended by algorithms that not I wanna see. As for this platform, at least for now, its homepage seems clean

Can't speak for other servers- but qoto doesn't implement ads. I _have_ seen ad-bots on other servers- and have blocked them accordingly.

just for a bit of wordplay about ads ... - perhaps "unattractive" is the word- though it depends if you like the ad(s) or not and they could be both attractive and less attractive at the same time :)
but yes, less is best overall to keep focus and not have it so mixed
