V2L is super cool.

I think once we get V2G it will be even cooler, maybe.

In the meantime, it's fantastic to know I have a 60kWh battery and decent size true sine mains inverter sat in my parking space should we lose power.

Someone on a EV page posted this neat setup :

No need for a noisy smelly gen-set. Just use your car for emergency power. What could be wrong with that, I hear you ask?

Well let me tell you what someone thinks is wrong with that...

The incorrectness is only offset by the confidence of the man...

In that last picture shown, the switch is shown. It is a changeover / transfer switch, which is fitted in between the electricity meter and the consumer unit. It is a multi-pole, multi-throw type. And deliberately designed so that you go via an "ALL OFF" position between the "grid" and "alternative source" positions. It means both grid and alt.source cannot be connected simultaneously.

In simple terms no risk can be posed to a linesman BECAUSE the grid is literally not connected. The switch is designed precisely this way, deliberately.

But that doesn't stop the confidence of one who is wrong, does it?

No...
