I was watching a youtube video about submarine cables.

It made me wonder, and the answer doesn't seem trivially found, what was the *last* copper-based submarine telegraph/telephone cable installed?

Obviously all power cables even now are copper/alu (guess?) but at some point the world stopped doing under sea copper for signalling/comms. One day, the last one ever was rolled out. And the next one was fibre.

When was that? And what cable was it?

@bloor It has been on my list since December 2019.. then covid happened and I've never managed to find time since.

@CenturyAvocado there is also the wireless museum and the Minnack near there - and Eden project

Hope to make a visit to Looe, likely sometime early 2024. Will make time to visit those places.
Besides this plaque, not sure what else Co Antrim can offer about Marconi & wireless firsts.
