And yes I do a lot of IT and IoT. I know operating systems like macOS, windows, and Linux will have zero problem. Heck, Linux copes with 1970 having been summer time. The timezone setting will simply have an end year for BST happening.
All my IoT will simply need a slight change to timezone settings at the time. But all my IoT stuff has auto updates. Some IoT may need to be poked. But just the once!
Loads of other stuff will be easier
There is one teeny tiny long term downside.
Lazy programmers working in UTC (WET) who no longer even have to think of non UTC time zones. They may have code which suffers when not run in that context. But the bugs will be quickly found and fixed.
Lazy programmers working anywhere in EU who no longer have to consider changing time zones twice a year. Harder to fix. May just leave code with manual time offset and ignore non EU sillyness :-)
@revk it partitions the island of Ireland (by time). I can't imagine the Republic of Ireland would vote for that.

Oh my, oh my, that’ll be contentious for obvious (but irrelevant) reasons.
An AT-WET boundary by landmass rather than political boundaries would be more practical across British Isles altho the same challenges exist at other proposed boundaries on continental Europe.
@guardeddon @SamJSharpe they do suggest on that page that Ireland would probably be WET
