Eurostar “Red” (ex-Thalys)

Where the extra staff intensive boarding process involves a surly guy checking your ticket for you to board while a queue of passengers waits on the cold platform and blocks passengers trying to get to the carriages further along

Top process design, this

And there are signs and announcements about all kinds of useless stuff on trains in France

Here there is one thing that should be announced but isn’t - take your small bags into the carriage, leave only the large ones at the racks by the doors

I’m always surprised by passengers’ lack of initiative as well

Spanish-speaking short lady with heavy bag blocking vestibule (and so blocking everyone’s way into the carriage). I speak no Spanish, but I can point at big bag, point at luggage rack, and lift the bag for her

Couple stood aimlessly in the aisle

Why are they stood there I wondered?

Turns out they needed a place for their suitcase. All they needed do was ask someone to move another suitcase along the overhead rack *a bit*. Then there’d be space for their bag

But no. Asking a stranger that is beyond them. Block the aisle instead

If only tech bros took the train, imagine the uses they’d contrive for (physical) robots & AI. All luggage space, no passengers. 😂
