@neil @ianbradbury +1 Kobo, I have an old (Aura, ~2016 backlit) one that still works fine, but my wife loves her newer Libra which is also waterproof. They work very well with the 'Calibre' software which is fantastic.

Apparently you're meant to do an #Introduction, so...

I'm a writer from the UK. I do threads mocking the political fuck-ups of the week. I've also written bestselling books taking a longer view of UK politics since 2010. I try to make it funny, even though it really isn't.

So I'll mostly be writing about that on here. And dogs.

I spent 30 years as a director-level software dude, and still do software stuff half the time, cos books don't pay. Also a painter, drummer, boxer and cancer survivor.

Unverified colonists are limited to 600 breaths a day.

This is hilariously stupid. I mean, just painfully stupid. And, yes, it's real.

Anyone seen a ‘Rate Limit Exceeded’ message here?

No, I thought not.

Today I’m launching S3 Files, a client for S3 compatible storage inside the Files app, share sheet, shortcuts and the Finder on Mac.

Technical apps like mine struggle on the App Store. Please tell your S3 loving friends about it.

Thanks, sometimes I feel like a digi-dinosaur for hoarding MP3 files. 😉

Also I enjoy curating them and getting their metadata right (Mp3Tag etc) but maybe that's just my inner archivist speaking. 😁

LastPass users furious after being locked out due to MFA resets bleepingcomputer.com/news/secu

Friends, I’m going to be blunt with you: stop using LastPass. I like 1Password. Lots of people think Bitwarden is great. If you only use Apple stuff, the built-in password manager is fine. But don’t use LastPass, OK?

The takeaway isn't "haha, the richboys died."

The takeaway is that #OceanGate was operating with the same absence of regulation and oversight larger corporations are currently advocating for themselves worldwide.

you know, the thing is, the internet actually worked fine for like twenty years BEFORE everyone was congregating in one place

we don't actually NEED to replace it with another huge place
