@aebrockwell @freemo At the old company, I was on a group to prevent the 'Great 2000 turnover Disaster'. I looked quickly at all our systems and said in the first meeting - "Nothing is going to happen!' I was kicked out by the stupid people, who had a great party with that, and nothing happened.
@aebrockwell @freemo Ha, I stay away from that topic. The great thing about being retired is that I don't have to wrangle something out of stupid people. :)
@GeorgeMari Ha, we had a guest at the cottage, and he looked up at the feeder, at a female feeding, and said "How beautiful." We were on the deck saying "oh, oh" Sure enough, the male, being a dog in the manger, attacked the female at bullet speeds, and they zoomed by the guy, an inch by the head on either side. We were dying, laughing, and saying he almost had two spears in his head. But their reflexes are amazing, and although they constantly scare us when they fight, they've never hit anyone yet. I always put up the deck umbrella, just for them.
@lupyuen It hasn't bricked my computer for a long time.
@cyrilpedia Yeah, let's advance to adhoc testing on children! :)
@cyrilpedia Can you make a deep fake of him saying "I love Trump!" :)
@shuttersparks Don't worry, they're all putting it into bitcoin and Toronto real estate. :)
@freemo There's nobody left for them, but the crazies. :)
#physics #weather **UK gets the full blast** This is what I was talking about when I said they would get what they had last time. That's the 'full stream' pouring over them. Very nice winter pictures. Of course, this is 'extreme weather' predicted by 'clange'. I hope all their 'warm weather dancing' is keeping them warm. :)
#physics #weather **Washpost turns on forecasters**
“You have no idea come Dec. 1 what your winter is going to look like because our seasonal forecasts are so bad,” said Jeffrey Mount, a senior fellow with the Public Policy Institute of California’s Water Policy Center, in an interview. “They are just not reliable enough to make definitive water supply decisions.”
This is funny. And, of course, the guard turns to climate change, and 'they saw it coming all the time'.
**The Anti-Influencer** Even though my blog hits are a random spike, my brain went on a flight of fancy while walking the dog. Every influencer is a whirlwind of energy. How could I have an influence for the Scientific Method, while getting lots of money and not doing any work? I came to the conclusion -- No chance! So, the people are fed the pablum by hard-working influencers that ooze charisma. Those rains will stop for California and Australia, and I' walk my dog. :) ps. Here in Canada, the calicanes will cause an 1830 'Endless Snow'. Fun.
#physics **3d printing with AI**
https://www.yankodesign.com/2023/01/14/dont-buy-a-3d-printer-do-this-instead/
In a couple of years, the Good Dr. will be able to buy a 3d AI bobble-head of himself as a wizard. Right now, both AI art, and 3d printing are 'meh'. But, what great things can be done with it combined?
#earthquake #physics **Water-activated earthquakes** The earthquakes in Texas, and formerly Oklahoma were acknowledged, even by the powers, to be activated by water injection. If all those lined-up storms dump on California, the hypothesis is that there will be a noticeable increase in earthquakes. The odds of a big one remain the same as always. (just said to cover my sensitive parts). :)
Descended from Unix freaks, I evolved to Linux. Some people might consider me old at 60+, but I'm suing the world to get my age down to 30.
I have a blog https://ontario-geofish.blogspot.com/
and it is read by 8 people. My formal education is in an extinct branch of science called geophysics. Since there was no money in it, I went to engineering. I've done tunnels, radwaste thingies, etc.
