If he runs, Biden will likely lose the presidency to Trump v2, and the latter, if he carries through with his Project 2025 to reshape the entire federal government in his own image, will plunge the country into a darkness from which it will take years to emerge.
In its current form, NATO will be no more, Trump will share everything with Putin, and Europe will stand alone against both the Amero-Eurasian axis and China.
Europe has no choice but to lead the free world in cooperation with pockets of democracy throughout the rest of the world.
Hyperbole? Until 2016, we laughed at the very idea of Trump. The world could never be that stupid, we said. Reason and common sense will prevail. Oh yes.

@JustMe It's not about extrapolating from Iowa. There was an interesting documentary broadcast last night on English TV that looked into countrywide polling among various US demographics, and, in the data, a pattern emerges that paints Biden, despite his largely unsung economic successes, as a liability.
And now, with the Israel-Hamas conflict and much else besides that frames Biden as a "disappointment", the Democrats' traditional base appears to be fracturing. Sucking up the Democrat vote? There is a fear that many will stay at home on election day.

Personally I really take issues with polls. Especially this far out from any election. I am in my fifties and do not know anyone who has ever been polled. I don't know anyone with a landline which is a common method to conduct polls. And the only person I know who will answer their cell phone from unknown numbers is my friend, a Republican realtor. Polls are profit not public svc and this early they can be used to manipulate public opinion. Splitting Dems will be a very bad outcome.
@JustMe I too have never been politically polled, but as a white-haired political activist (Green) who takes an interest in these things from local to European levels, and who understands statistics on a technical level, I know how accurate polls can be. They are a reasonably good indicator of public opinion, even if there are statistical and political biases in some of them.
I like the defiant idealism, but wonder what we would actually do, geopolitically.
I don’t think we have the power to pick fights with everyone. Wouldn’t we try to woo China, instead, to pressure the US?
We would probably sell out our principles to contain Russia, and make deals with anyone who can help us, or not harm us.
Hopefully our leaders would not be dumb enough to sell out Ukraine.
I also fear our own Trumpian Far Right would gain from the crisis atmosphere.
@Akshay It may be involve a robust defensive posture using economic, intelligence and military clout to defend democracy in Europe. That will require a strengthening of EU institutions, and increased defence and security spending.
I too fear crisis psychology and its political fallout.

TFg only won Iowa with something like 18% of Republicans. He didn't have some major victory.
Unless someone comes along and sucks up half the Democrat vote.
