The Nitter project, a privacy-oriented X/Twitter front-end, has been discontinued by its owner. The decision is linked to X/Twitter's move to disable the creation of guest accounts, on which Nitter was heavily relying.

In what can only be seen as Alphabet's blatant refusal to obey EU law, it was announced over the weekend that they would introduce Bard to Android Messages App and intercept all messages (past and future) for the purpose of training it - in breach of EU's rules on interception of communications under Article 5(1) of Directive 2002/58/EC.
To make it worse Alphabet know this is illegal after they were caught intercepting WiFi communications in 2010 with their Streetview cars.

As an OU alumnus who signed the original petition for it to disassociate from the Gender Critics club, I’m disappointed by the complete capitulation of the university in the Jo Phoenix empioyment tribunal case. The tribunal appears to have expected the OU to reprimand me and other signatories for contributing to her harassment.

Yesterday, taking advantage of dry and mild conditions, I replenished the feeders in my back garden, raked up the leaves that had fallen in November and trimmed down the dried stalks of died-back plants. As I was doing this I heard the bird calls go up and realised I was being observed. I swear they were passing the news. I made sure to leave leaves and dried grasses/stalks behind so that, as soon as I went inside, the local feathered population descended for food and nest repairs.

Allow me to precis this intrinsic vs extrinsic values model of the political psyche...
Some people are nice, while others are cunts, and there's a bit of a spectrum in between. Appeasing cuntishness is the easier option, in which case society becomes increasingly and self-reinforcingly cuntish.

I can see such logic playing on the minds of many undecided voters in the coming general election.
In its later years, the Blair government was a statist, securocratic mess, but at least it started out with good intentions and actions. With no vavavoom to begin with, a Starmer administration is fated to fizzle out rapidly in political heat death.
