For those of you unfamiliar with the constitutional politics of the Anglo-British 'union', Alister Jack is the Secretary of State for [sic] Scotland. In effect, he's the equivalent of a Roman Proconsul overseeing a colony or province.

German road safety advocate @natenom was sadly killed while cycling yesterday. His final post on Mastodon from the day before describes a near miss with the driver of an SUV who was completely unapologetic about putting his life at risk.

The fear that all of us have, who cycle on roads shared with inconsiderate and entitled drivers, is real. Our anger at near misses, close passes, and aggressive driving, is fully justified.
