Surface water flooding receives relatively little media and political attention – we mostly notice river flooding – but it can be devastating. In addition, fears that new developments will increase flood risk for existing residents is a common reason for objecting to planning applications in England.

Great to see the problem of surface water flooding getting some attention with this report out today from the National Infrastructure Commission, with several good sense policy recommendations.
