@FetidTrash Was a good one, but not quite to get on my list ![]()
Scientists make #AI more intimidating by adding living neurons, while engineers make robot arms cuter and more versatile by mimicking elephant trunks. All that in my latest item for C&EN https://cen.acs.org/physical-chemistry/computational-chemistry/tiny-brain-video-gameselephant-trunk/100/i42
@RebeccaRHelm I've come across a couple of #octopus posts, but this is way too cute. Thanks for sharing ![]()
Cephalopods like octopuses, squids and cuttlefish are highly intelligent animals with complex nervous systems. In “Science Advances”, a team led by Nikolaus Rajewsky of the Max Delbrück Center has now shown that their evolution is linked to a dramatic expansion of their microRNA repertoire.

Trying to forward to people interested in #MindBrainEducation
A call for help from my Mastodon friends:
I work at the intersection of #CognitivePsychology, #neuroscience, and #education: a field often called #MindBrainEducation.
So far, I've found folks in each of those disciplines, and am learning a lot.
However, I've found only a few looking at the overlaps and conversations.
If you could help me find my #MBE people here, I'd be grateful.
(Please reblog.)
@tfeend I'm able to domain subscribe to other instances, which show up on my Home thread. It may be server specific. I'd say to check with your instance admin.
@bibliolater Clearly a problem with explosion of big data. I'm glad there is effort to fix this eventually. Thanks for sharing the interesting idea. ![]()
@erinnacland I agree. I believe this is due to the fact that there are lot of excellent scientists with great ideas, but limited research funds. The solution to this problem is to increase research funding. We really cannot hair-split the scientific merit of two excellent grants to rank score them. It'll boil down to what you ate for breakfast or how well you slept ![]()
@PhiloNeuroSci Congrats! Awesome job 🎉
@neuralengine May be it's server specific? My hashtag searches bring up other instances.
With three simple steps and in just 48 hr, EZ Clear effectively renders adult mouse organs optically transparent while preserving signals from fluorescent reporters. https://elifesciences.org/articles/77419
@Carolira Thank you! Still a lot to learn here ![]()
@seeingwithsound
I just joined here, but it seems we have overlapping scientific interests. I study the cellular basis for cross modal plasticity with vision loss. Thx for posting research highlights related to my research interests!
I'm a neuroscientist studying cortical plasticity. In particular, I study cellular mechanisms of cross-modal plasticity. Looking forward to connecting with others with similar interests
