Wikimedia: "This is awkward to admit, but I have to be honest: 98% of our readers don't give.." "Will you renew your solidarity with a CDN$ 5 donation gemlog?"
What's awkward is wikimedia is floating in money and they just keep 'empire building' with it. Hiring new ppl and thinking up new things to do instead of simply concentrating on the core encyclopedia - the one they are begging me for money for. How often/yr are there beg screens now? The bills are paid already!
Reminds me of mozilla! :-(
Thanks for the tip off about 'mission creep'. I've contributed in the past believing that my contribution was being used to ensure the growth and improvement of the online encyclopedia. If it was used solely for that purpose, I'd be willing to make further small contributions.
