@freemo A long time ago, I'd be offended in your position. Now, I understand and accept that a large percentage of human beings are illogical and have mental disorders. Don't waste time trying to logic someone out of something they didn't logic themselves into.
Here's my summary of today's #Covid19Cymru figures:
Cases down. R up (but still well under 1). Deaths surprisingly low
There were 2281 cases reported today. Positivity (as someone observed yesterday) remains high, at around 30%.
7-day average: 2229 - DOWN 105)
R (estimate): 0.91 - UP 0.01
1/3
This small rise in R is not of huge concern, but it's the second day in a row that it's gone up. It says the rate of fall is getting slower. But cases are still falling (R < 1).
It would be unwise to read much into this, given the irregularities of Christmas data.
13 new deaths were reported. That's surprisingly low for what should be a "normal" Wednesday. I'd go as far as to say that it's improbable, given the situation. I expect a correction at some point.
7-day average: 32.71 - DOWN 5.43
2/3
The big disappointment in today's data is #Ceredigion. It seems this is a "catch-up" day after 2 days of very low figures. But I wouldn't have expected to see such a phenomenon at county level, where other counties seem to have been in line with their usual.
35 new cases: 7-day average 16.86 - UP 0.29
3/3
@freemo Writing code is absolutely all about successive drafts. Even working code is usually not the last draft, I almost always redraft what I’ve done to make it clear to whoever will be reading it what’s going/what the important parts are

I find myself in disagreement with the Guardian’s editorial where it argues that Keir Starmer is “right to back the deal”. Under its last leader, Labour failed the British people by not wholeheartedly opposing Brexit. Had Jeremy Corbyn mustered the commitment to lead the remain cause, Labour might well not have lost anything like the 50-odd leave seats it did in the last election. Labour is, thankfully, under new management and we know where the hearts of Keir Starmer, Anneliese Dodds and Emily Thornberry lie. They are Europeans, through and through. They must now have the courage of their convictions. They know that Brexit is fuelled by dubious money, dodgy argument, a focus on spurious “sovereignty” and elements of racism.
A comparison of the speeches of Ursula von der Leyen and Boris Johnson summed up why Christmas Eve was such a shaming day. Von der Leyen spoke with feeling, vision and deep seriousness, Johnson with his usual silliness. Britain needs to repair the damage as soon as it can. It needs to rejoin the EU at the first opportunity, and Labour must make the case unequivocally. It must begin by abstaining in the vote on what must be seen as solely a Tory deal.

I completely concur with David Curtis (who I don't know). The Guardian editorial beggars belief in its extraordinary naivety. Millions of people will desert the party if it supports the Tory deal on Brexit. The only sensible policy for Starmer is to call for his fellow MPs to abstain and to do so passionately! Any other course will herald the death of the Labour Party which, in the long term, may be a very good thing!
If somehow it were possible to take away a humans ability to learn and grow, would that necessarily take away your free will?
