Hey Fediverse, here's a question for you: If I search for a hashtag, are the results presented from all federated instances or just the home instance?
@freemo Oh that's odd. I searched for #cwc2019 and all I got was "0 people talking" with empty timelines. I did search for other variants like #worldcup2019, #CWC and so on. Where can I see some live activity stream?
I'm not talking about the 'federated timeline' view with some filters on. I wanted to try something through the mastodon API for a live feed on a single hashtag.
Would you know of anything like that?
@illandan @freemo You get results from all instances, but only those that were received by your instance via relay or someone else's subscription. If your search for hashtag shows no results you won't see it in federated timeline either. You can try searching instances manually with links like this https://mastodon.social/tags/cwc2019
