I don’t understand why any author pays the exorbitant Nature open access fees ($11,690!) when they can legally generate a view only PDF of their piece to share.

@davidho Might the answer be grant or institutional requirements to publish in an #openAccess journal? Using the feature you mention could be viewed as functionally equivalent but it might not technically satisfy such a requirement.
