So this was my first time really trying to use mastodon to have discussions. It was rough. The official app is pretty bad. I've heard there are lots of other apps that provide better experiences. And I'm capable of finding them, so this isn't a request for recommendations. More so I'm thinking about how likely it is that mastodon will keep growing. The friction is still very high.
@polotek and they still refuse to implement quoted tweets. like, links to posts from the mastodon dot social DO NOT EMBED on their own site. like, WTAF you really don't want Blacktwitter here, dontcha?
am here because, honestly? joined other sites and it wasn't the vibe. i'll eventually run my own instance with all the features i want.

@blogdiva While you're correct that there was a lot of resistance to adding quote posts, it is now on the roadmap, so at this point it's not that they refuse to implement it but rather that they just haven't implemented it yet.
