I truly, truly, hate the threading system on Reddit. Unless you get into the first thread early enough, almost nobody will see a damn thing you write, no matter how consequential it might be. That's the elephant in the room.

But then as Shog said, a thread once killed my father, and I've been on a lifelong quest for revenge since then..

the reason this comes to mind is, I'm trying to comment on a recent-ish reddit article about Stack Overflow, as the CO-FOUNDER OF THE COMPANY, and ain't a damn person gonna see what I write.

It's a way to raise engaging. You have to be always there, or nobody will read you.

Very likely.

I have the theory that at least some of the big sites got there by getting something right by mere accident which in theory it is wrong, but makes them really successful. Sometimes, people analyze it and understands it. Sometimes, not. So the day they try to fix it, they see stats going bad. So that something stays forever, without nobody knowing why, only that it works.
