I must say, the Galaxy S23 looks pretty dope hardware-wise. It’s a shame about that software, though—I miss the Google Play Experience phones! And no, buying a phone explicitly to flash other software is not really a solution.

And its price tag is so obscene I'd never dare to take it out of home.

I can't even imagine a feature set interesting enough to make me pay half of that. What's the market for this? Enthusiasts, rich people and companies with money to burn?

@jgg eh, $799 is pretty standard for flagship phones. I appreciate phones that come in at a better value, but I don’t think a race to the bottom is really what’s needed.

@cassidy

I miss the days when flagship phones didn't cost more than 500$ and they really got me more value than their 200$ brothers.

My current phone has cost me 200$, has a battery that lasts a week (configured for low energy, and minimal use), a screen that shames my PC display, around 300GB (with a 256GB MicroSD), and the only performance issue I have found is when I try to emulate some PSP games.

Ok, I'm not a heavy smartphone user, but I wonder, seriously, what use case do modern flagship phones have that makes them worth the cost?
