Every time you hear the Reddit CEO talking about how they need to become profitable, remember they raised $250m and then spent the last couple years building this: nft.reddit.com

@robotdeathsquad There should be an ACTIVE petition calling for Steve Huffman to resign as CEO of Reddit.

@snappy_ranger I gotta assume the Board gave him an ultimatum, so I'm guessing there kind of is, in a way.

What if it is the board who forced him to the NFT thing? The gold rush was strong at the time.

No idea, but I wouldn't be surprised at all.

@jgg @snappy_ranger Well, I'd guess the board was at least informed on it, give the apparent time and budget spent on it, so they are of course culpable as well.

@robotdeathsquad @jgg @snappy_ranger just a little more info about why Reddit got into the crypto-fad. Obviously, Steve Huffman is in on that crypto-grift, but so are most of Reddit's biggest investors. The big round of funding that Reddit got in 2014 was led by Sam Altman (ceo of WorldCoin and OpenAI) and had major investments from Andreesen Horowitz. Pivoting to crypto was a big priority for them almost 10 years ago.
