Looking for some help. I've become increasingly interested in #semiotics and I'm looking for an author or title that provides an accessible introduction into the field. Is #UmbertoEco a good place to start? If so, which book? If not, where I should I look?
Some boosts would be appreciated!

Tried a pair of Eco semiology books decades ago. Their style was as terrible as good are his fiction books. They were excellent examples of overblown academic style. But maybe he wrote more accessible books. I recommend reading a page or two before buying, you get the taste almost immediately.
