It's been all over the news, so I can't get around posting about it here: the year of the Linux desktop is finally here. According to the - admittedly, troublesome - figures from StatCounter, the market share of Linux on the desktop has reached 7.23%. Other publications do not count Chrome OS installations as part of the Linux share, but I think that's nonsense - they
