It is endlessly frustrating to me that alcohol is so prevalent that we need to make up fake alcoholic drinks just for people to feel they belong in common social situations! All alcohol has always tasted like crap to me, and still does — it is a terrible drug that works with all the nuanced subtlety of a sledgehammer on your body. Another reason I am happy THC is being normalized and legalized. Sooo much safer for society and the world.

What should be normalized is to not having drugs at all. So much safer, healthier, secure.
The damage alcohol has made along the years to our society is so huge, so widespread, that most of people are unable to see it. And the main reason is consuming it has been a societal norm for so long that most of people considers it an essential part of being human. Which is really bonkers.
We shouldn't need any drug to be happy or have fun, much less to socialize. The fact that so many people requires it implies our society is really sick.
