Opening an investigation on this matter is wholly appropriate. That being said, I have zero confidence in #FIFA conducting this investigation impartially. Not exactly the best track record in that organization. #WWC2023 #Spain #MastodonFC #corruption

"Spanish FA president Luis Rubiales will reportedly resign Friday"

https://www.foxsports.com/stories/soccer/spanish-fa-president-luis-rubiales-will-reportedly-resign-friday

Drama!

Spanish football federation President Luis Rubiales refused to step down over his kiss on the lips of soccer player Jenni Hermoso after Spain's World Cup victory.

‘I will not resign, I will not resign,’ he said. #WWC2023 #MastodonFC #Spain #FIFA #corruption

Noted moron #Rubiales claims he is being targeted by "false feminism." Okay let's take his version as accurate - according to him, in the hype of celebration he asked #Hermoso for a kiss. IDGAF if she said yes; the mere fact that he asked IS the problem. His infantile behavior trying to defend himself now is only further evidence the guy has to go. #WWC2023 #Spain #MastodonFC #FIFA #corruption #misogyny

Love this response from #Hermoso. In case you're wondering "categoricamente falsas" roughly translates to "Fuck you, #Rubiales." #wwc2023 #Spain #MastodonFC #FIFA

#FIFA suspends #Rubiales for 90 days pending investigation. Good.

Y’all…I can’t even with this. This is a truly insane statement to release publicly. Shame on #RFEF. First they call #Hermoso a liar and then threaten to take any necessary legal actions in defense of the honorability of the #Rubiales. WTF is going on here? #MastodonFC #WWC2023 #FIFA

Huge if true: The ENTIRE coaching staff of Jorge #Vilda have unanimously resigned citing #RFEF President Luis #rubiales behavior during #WorldCup celebrations.

#Spain Manager Jorge Vilda does NOT plan on resigning.

I haven't seen independent news outlets reporting this yet, but the fallout continues. #MastodonFC

Here it is, confirmation of the mass resignation of the #Spain coaching staff. I'm loving every minute of this protest against #RFEF #Rubiales and #Vilda. #wwc2023 #MastodonFC #FIFA #Hermoso

Excellent news! Now the coach of the #Spain men's national team has come out against #Rubiales calling his conduct "unmitigatedly the wrong and inappropriate behavior of the President of the RFEF" #MastodonFC #wwc2023 #FIFA

Hermoso's former club, #Barcelona, released a statement condemning #Rubiales. Barcelona is a major Spanish club with worldwide prestige, so this is not a meaningless statement from them. Kudos!

"FC Barcelona wishes to make clear that it considers totally improper and inappropriate the #RFEF president's behaviour during the Women's World Cup final celebrations."
