"People are too tired to mask" is a BS excuse for inaction.

You can require masks. You can distribute free N95 masks. You can educate people that #COVID is airborne.

Unless you are doing all of these things, you have no right to say "people are tired." The fault is yours.

With COVID rates high and hospitalizations rising, we are seeing every institution from governments to hospitals wheel out excuses for doing nothing. We're years into the pandemic. You all know what you need to do. But you are choosing to prioritize profits over people's health.

Around here everybody used masks when it was mandatory. Nowadays, they seem to have become allergic to masks. I understand government here: they are frightened people are not going to obey them if they try to bring them back.

It is a bit of a lame excuse, but, really, what kind of power has any government to control any disease if people chooses to ignore them? Or anything else?

In fact, the pandemic has been much worse in countries where people distrust their own government. When the people chooses to ignore public health measures, people die.

I think they are waiting until it gets really scary, so people will not have to be convinced of the need (or it gets better, and there is no need). The same lame strategy as always, because nobody has learned anything.
