@davidbisset To understand the reason it is used we must ask the question: What's the benefit of React (or any other toolset) over vanilla JS? Is it because those using tools forget or don't know how to code or some other reason? Are they really using the libraries or is it a workflow advantage? What low-code and no-code tools are out there being used?

Reactivity. A template engine. A sophisticated component system. A extension that trully helps you to know what your app is really doing.
That helps you write less code, fix bugs faster and mitigate the ugly mess all JS code becomes if you don't componentize.
Same for Vue, Angular, Svelte...
