I've been working on a flyer in my spare time. Since this is purely for my amusement/hobbies, I am using the tools I love, in this case mostly #inkscape. But oh horror, when I tried to print this flyer, the colour proofing was way off (luckily noticed before full run).
I am now learning about colour profiles etc. But what I also learned is that @doctormo has been working on proper #CMYK support for Inkscape for a while! You can support him at his patreon!
@mmcm @doctormo @Liberapay It’s fascinating stuff. Was reading a graphic design book and they were talking about stuff like metallic foil printing and finishing like dimpling patterns that really make package designs “pop” - you can’t show that sort of thing on a CRT monitor.

Love the built in patterns in #Inkscape - very useful for setting up bump maps. Way more patterns available and more flexible than what #Adobe provides by default!
