CW: Zoom coworking support sessions
I don't know if anyone would be interested in this but I used to like to "cowork" on Zoom, where you just meet up and work on your own things and folks can choose whether to mute or chat. I have a lot of reading and writing to do and it's lonely being off campus with no fellowship. So, I"m wondering if foks would be interested in hanging out in Zoom as we work together? All are welcome, I happen to be an #academic, though!
@leahdriel I could totally use something like this since I'm insanely overloaded and peer pressure legitimately seems like a great way to get through it (that may have sounded snarky, but I'm 100% serious).

I much prefer collaborative spaces, and nearly all my research projects and my startup have been mainly on me. It's much nicer being able to take breaks to chat or bounce ideas off people (assuming they're in the mood for it, lol).
Keep me posted if you don't mind, assuming schedules work out, you'll have at least one regular attendee here unless the wheels fall off my proverbial cart 😄
@johnabs If you're up for it I might do one tomorrow night, I'm on Toronto Canada time if you're around, but also it's Friday so I don't expect anyone to be around. I need to get a lot of work done this weekend to make up for a sluggish week so this'll keep me accountable.
@leahdriel Looks like we're on the same time zone, so just let me know when you're thinking to start it and what zoom link to use! I'm available after 4PM/1600; I'll be there, depending on how nocturnal you are 😂
I am currently finalizing a 50 page manuscript (90 with supplemental info...) for submission, and have been tasked with reducing it by around 20 pages so I can fit my experiments in...so I should have at least a few hours to work tomorrow 💀

I'm beginning to think that working with a fellow night owl will be a bad influence and only worsen my fraying routine....but there's only one way to find out! I'll be there, just link me whenever 😄
@johnabs I also like to get up real early, I mean BONKERS early, and get work done. My living situation is brutal so I find nighttime more productive. But then I also love not being productive at night - go figure haha. Will do!

@johnabs No no I'm totally in the same boat. I need that fellowship of just knowing we're all supposed to be working haha. It's psychologically supportive when you find yourself dragging, and I'm really pretty lonely working by myself! I'll see how many people are into it then try and block times where I'll hop on with the stream.
