What makes the #Guix System so cool is that almost all of it is just #Scheme code. This opens up a LOT of possibilities, like for example quickly writing a web interface for package-management.
You can see this idea in action in guix.el, which lets you manage all your Guix packages through a powerful #Emacs interface.

@cel7t I added

(setq org-link-abbrev-alist '(("guix" . "elisp:(guix-packages-by-name \"%s\")") ...))

To my Emacs config so I can add links in org mode directly to Guix packages without leaving Emacs :)

@robby @cel7t If you don't mind, could you provide an example use case? I'm not seeing the utility, but it's likely because I'm new to Guix in general 😅

@johnabs well, a good example that I mentioned in the post itself is guix.el (gitlab.com/emacs-guix/emacs-gu)
You can basically import both package definitions and most of the source code powering Guix as modules in Guile Scheme, and the author has used that to create a Guix package-management UI for Emacs.
