Progress on #OpenFX #Rust plugin: I managed to get the ofx crate example to compile and work after changing a few things to make the crate up to date with more recent Rust code. Next thing on my todo list is to write a new version of the plugin to make sure I actually understand how to write OFX plugins.

The longest continously operating atmospheric carbon dioxide monitor has been knocked offline after the eruption of Mauna Loa 🌋 destroyed the power lines (and possibly also the road) supporting the Mauna Loa Observatory.

The world now has many carbon dioxide monitors, so this is no great loss to science, but it is a bit sad that a measurement time series that has run for more than 60 years will be interrupted, possibly for months.

@cwebber @vv for example! both Christine and I use org-mode. However, Christine uses org-mode to unfold reality into a cosmic lotus flower of neatly organized ideas, and I mostly use org-mode to make text bold sometimes.

@mattblaze Agree with others that have chimed in. I've spent several years either as a poll inspector. Particularly in small towns it's a long but fun day. You get to see everyone and get to meet neighbors you don't know. It also made it possible to become friends with my counterparts in the other party sharing pictures and stories of kids and grandkids.

I'm a California resident and repeat poll worker. It's a lonely job here; universal vote-by-mail ballots mean most people cast their ballots from their kitchen tables. The general election gets a fair amount of election day turnout. The off-year elections are sparse! We had two in-person voters at my polling station for a 2020 special election.

But it's still an interesting and rewarding experience. Most of all, you learn about the procedures that make voter fraud hard.

先不说解封会不会虚晃一枪这件事......广州的很多抗议封控的行动都发生在城中村，ta们多是跨省务工者，受封控影响更大、反抗遭受的暴力程度也更高，后滘昨晚连催泪瓦斯都用上了，南亭村小洲村都有人被殴打，包括康鹭之前有人自行拆水马，ta们面对着更激烈的冲突（反正比海珠广场严重多了），只是不会喊好听的口号、可能也不擅长网络传播，今天如果真的要感谢也请感谢这些因为活不下去而站出来的普通劳动者。
除了城中村以外，环市东路、环市西路以及各个大学也都有人在聚集或举牌，行动是自发涌现遍地开花的，没有什么号召或中心。我们要停止把一小部分人想象成决定因素，我们的行动和语境都应和更广泛的人群联系在一起。

These issues reek of incredible inexperience making multi user software. Something you really don't want for a site like social media that contains so much sensitive data.
